Good news, everybody! [/Professor Farnsworth] I seem to have formatting and icons back on LJ! At least, they've been here for a few hours, so I'm optimistic that they're staying. :-D

Since I finally finished the last of my help_haiti commissions, I can post about them.

Today's entry for the naarmamo National Art Making Month challenge is two pair of earrings because I finally have the supplies and they're fast.

Today's entry for the naarmamo National Art Making Month challenge is a necklace because I did have the supplies for that, having bought the beads back in March on holiday in Taupo. The central bead has aqua, amber, purple, and a dash of black in it, so I used those colours in the other beads. I have two of each of the main colours left over so I can make matching earrings when I get the headpins and ear pieces I need.

Here's what I made on Tuesday evening when I went out unwillingly into that cold night. It was worth it though: I learned how to make a spaced necklace and two types of earrings. I also bought a necklace board, a set of tools, some 'tigertail' (the fine flexible wire used here) and crimps.

I had planned to work with wooden or ceramic beads, but this time we had no choice; we had to select from set packs of glass beads. But now I have the knowledge and the tools, I can do what I like from now on.

Last week on holiday, I went to a class at a place called the Creative Cafe and made two necklaces.
