It's Pi Day (if you use illogically ordered American dates ;-) ), so Happy Pi Day to you all!



Any excuse for a pie! I'm making an apple and sultana crumble one tonight, and since "pai" in Maori means "good", I'll be having a pai pi pie! And some fractal food in the form of romanesco broccoli as part of the main course. :-D

And while we're at it, here are a couple of icons if anyone wants a geeky pie one. :-)

astrogirl2 wanted some SG1 season 10 icons, and took three of the ones I made. Here are the rest: three Landrys, three Valas, and a bonus Rodney and lemon because it made me laugh.

Here are the icons I did for the last icon_style challenge, which was to use gradients. Coincidentally I chose the same cat picture as sallymn, but of course hers was much better. The flowers were the most difficult. I found a black silhouette of flowers and leaves, made it grey, then selectively applied circular and linear gradients, then added a grey gradient to the background.

I don't have much to say (other than that I just bought some yarn to knit a teleport bracelet) and astrogirl2 revived the icon meme.

Here are some icons I did for a recent challenge (cat, John Sheppard, Avon), plus a couple of Pretender ones (Sydney and Miss Parker). Please comment and credit if you take. If you'd like text, I'd be happy to add some.

The cat BTW is not my late Tessa, but a chocolate Burmese I found online. Jasmin will eventually have a similar colour (chocolate points and a cafe au lait body).

In a Mad Men episode we saw last week, a client referred disparagingly to some four-colour posters as outdated WPA. I was interested enough to look it up and it stands for Works Progress Administration, a New Deal agency employing a lot of people during the depression, including artists who did posters, some examples of which can be seen here. I couldn't resist making icons out of some of them. Want, take, credit.
