We might be out of the World Cup, but we left unbeaten! We didn't win any matches, but hey, we didn't lose any either and we were playing some major teams. In fact we actually did better than Itaky, hwo are out too, since they lost to Paraguay. :-) We did pretty well for a small country that doesn't play much soccer.

Man, the Italian coach for England, Fabio Capello, has that indefinable but very Italian style (which turns out to be Marks and Sparks). No shapeless training outfits for him and his team who all turn up in grey suits too. :-)

And now for the crossovery goodness. astrogirl posted a wonderful and very funny Doctor Who/Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy fic for Multiverse5000, Does the Doctor Know Where His Towel Is?, all in perfect Guide style.

In honour of that, here's a brilliant fan-made vid, Doctor Who: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Daleks, narrated in an excellent Peter Jones-y voice. You may have to stop this to catch all the details, like the anagrams, the stairlessness of Skaro, the Mark Three War Bastard, and the teams Davros played for:

Multivserse5000 stories are up; go on over for some excellent stories. I wrote Rubbish (Travis and John Crichton) for kernezelda who wrote Thick as Thieves for me! It's Teal'c and Vila (and others) on Gauda Prime and is of the win! How could it not be with Teal'c?

And any Blackadder fans just have to read this story on dw_cross: Just Impediment. The voices are absolutely perfect, and I laughed so much, Greg demanded that I print it out for him. He enjoyed it as much as I did.

I used the opportunity of picowrimo (write 500 or 5,000 words in November) to finish a Blake's 7 / Star Trek: The New Generation story I started about two years ago. Many thanks to astrogirl2 for not just beta-reading but also Star Trek nit-picking. :-)

A spatial anomaly throws the Enterprise 700 years into the future where it encounters the Liberator. It's set not long after 'Breakdown' and is fairly light-hearted.

This is probably the latest I've finished a ficathon story--right up to the wire AKA midnight--but I haven't exactly been motivated.

This story is based on a short scene I wrote a few months ago with Hiro on the Liberator, and that scene's included. I also did an illustration for it.

I've finished my B7 / Narnia crossover, just in time for New Year! Thanks very much to astrogirl2 and kerravonsen for beta-reading. :-)

I started writing it for picowrimo (5000 words in a month) and it's now just over twice that. I wanted to write something fun after several serious stories, and I hope it amuses.

OK, I've signed up for the Finish-a-thon. This is kerravonsen's brilliant idea, where you post all your unfinished or unwritten stories, and people vote on which one they'd like to see you write. And as the authors for Multiverse 2006 have been announced, I can reveal, for what it's worth, that I wrote:

Meeting of Minds

It is flawed* but I was delighted with the Jayne and Avon story, Cynical and Unresponding, that entropy_house wrote me. I didn't have her down as a Firefly fan and was therefore very puzzled about who had written such good and funny Jayne since executrix had been a beta (and therefore not the author).

* For starters, I had to make Starbuck fly a Raptor because I needed something with jump capability to get her into the future.
