Here's my [community profile] intoabar fic - yes, yet another one where I throw Vila into a universe he doesn't belong in. There are probably vanishingly few people who know both fandoms, but [personal profile] zoefruitcake, who put me and Greg onto Detectorists - for which I am very grateful - is one. If you can get hold of it, do.

Summary: Vila needs to retrieve two Terran Federation credit coins, so he enlists the unwitting help of two metal detectorists.

This is my latest [livejournal.com profile] intoabar story: this time Vila finds himself on Discworld. Once I figured out a plot, it was a lot of fun to write.

Title: In a Pinch

Fandoms: Blake's 7, Discworld
Word count: 3,408

Summary: The Liberator is in a bit of a pinch and Vila needs Ridcully's help.

This is my [livejournal.com profile] intoabar story. It's a crossover I've done before but this one's in a different universe.

Title: Reunion
Author: Vilakins
Prompt: Vila Restal walks into a bar and meets... Draco Malfoy!
Fandoms: Blake's 7, Harry Potter
Word count: 3,336

I've posted my [livejournal.com profile] intoabar story on the comm and also on AO3. It's a crossover of Blake's 7 with The Big Bang Theory.

Guess the Universe!

If you don't know The Big Bang Theory, I highly recommend it. It's a very clever and funny show about geeks with such good dialogue I watch all the reruns even if they're recent. (My only objection is the writers' assumption that woman aren't interested in fandom. Huh?)

This is my ficathon walks into a bar story.

Title: A Quiet Drink
Author: [livejournal.com profile] vilakins
Prompt: Vila Restal walks into a bar and meets... Aeryn Sun!
Fandoms: Blake's 7, Farscape
Word count: 1707 words
Rating/Warnings: G, no warnings needed
Author's Note: Vila met Vala in Nothing But A Vowel, and the Red Dwarf crew in Pleasure.

Prompt: Vila Restal & Cat, Makeover
Fandoms: Blake's 7/Red Dwarf
Rating: G
Word Count: 932
Summary: When Vila meets the Cat again, he's ready for a change of image. Since I wrote the Cat giving sartorial advice to Avon in the Blake's 7/Red Dwarf crossover Pleasure, I couldn't resist this prompt.

Prompt: Vila Restal and Vala Mal Doran
Fandoms: Blake's 7/Stargate SG-1
Rating: G
Word Count: 3,400 (which amuses me greatly as I wasn't going for a round number)
Summary: Vila decides to find out whether the past is an improvement on his present. A sequel to the Blake's 7/Stargate Atlantis crossover Gateway I wrote a while back.

We might be out of the World Cup, but we left unbeaten! We didn't win any matches, but hey, we didn't lose any either and we were playing some major teams. In fact we actually did better than Itaky, hwo are out too, since they lost to Paraguay. :-) We did pretty well for a small country that doesn't play much soccer.

Man, the Italian coach for England, Fabio Capello, has that indefinable but very Italian style (which turns out to be Marks and Sparks). No shapeless training outfits for him and his team who all turn up in grey suits too. :-)

And now for the crossovery goodness. [personal profile] astrogirl posted a wonderful and very funny Doctor Who/Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy fic for Multiverse5000, Does the Doctor Know Where His Towel Is?, all in perfect Guide style.

In honour of that, here's a brilliant fan-made vid, Doctor Who: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Daleks, narrated in an excellent Peter Jones-y voice. You may have to stop this to catch all the details, like the anagrams, the stairlessness of Skaro, the Mark Three War Bastard, and the teams Davros played for:

Skaro Orient: striker
Kaled United: right wing
Kaled Wednesday: midfield
Aston Villa (ha!): striker
Bunker: striker
Bunker: goalkeeper

This is my story for the Walks Into A Bar ficathon. I chose Vila (surprise!) and was given Acastus Kolya from Stargate Atlantis. I actually thought this story up very quickly, but only got round to writing it today, being a champion procrastinator.

I wrote this during a conversation with [livejournal.com profile] vandonovan about how well Vila and Avon would fit into the Monty Python universe. So if you know both famdoms, here's...

Multivserse5000 stories are up; go on over for some excellent stories. I wrote Rubbish (Travis and John Crichton) for [livejournal.com profile] kernezelda who wrote Thick as Thieves for me! It's Teal'c and Vila (and others) on Gauda Prime and is of the win! How could it not be with Teal'c?

And any Blackadder fans just have to read this story on [livejournal.com profile] dw_cross: Just Impediment. The voices are absolutely perfect, and I laughed so much, Greg demanded that I print it out for him. He enjoyed it as much as I did.

I used the opportunity of [livejournal.com profile] picowrimo (write 500 or 5,000 words in November) to finish a Blake's 7 / Star Trek: The New Generation story I started about two years ago. Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] astrogirl2 for not just beta-reading but also Star Trek nit-picking. :-)

A spatial anomaly throws the Enterprise 700 years into the future where it encounters the Liberator. It's set not long after 'Breakdown' and is fairly light-hearted.

Time Warp

I also realised that I hadn't put my Blake's 7 / Heroes story on my site, so I rectified that.

This is probably the latest I've finished a ficathon story--right up to the wire AKA midnight--but I haven't exactly been motivated.

This story is based on a short scene I wrote a few months ago with Hiro on the Liberator, and that scene's included. I also did an illustration for it.

I've finished my B7 / Narnia crossover, just in time for New Year! Thanks very much to [livejournal.com profile] astrogirl2 and [livejournal.com profile] kerravonsen for beta-reading. :-)

I started writing it for [livejournal.com profile] picowrimo (5000 words in a month) and it's now just over twice that. I wanted to write something fun after several serious stories, and I hope it amuses.

OK, I've signed up for the Finish-a-thon. This is [livejournal.com profile] kerravonsen's brilliant idea, where you post all your unfinished or unwritten stories, and people vote on which one they'd like to see you write. Go over there and sign up: it's any fandom and any rating and you can't possibly end up writing something you don't want to. ;-)

And as the authors for Multiverse 2006 have been announced, I can reveal, for what it's worth, that I wrote:

Meeting of Minds

It is flawed* but I was delighted with the Jayne and Avon story, Cynical and Unresponding, that [livejournal.com profile] entropy_house wrote me. I didn't have her down as a Firefly fan and was therefore very puzzled about who had written such good and funny Jayne since [livejournal.com profile] executrix had been a beta (and therefore not the author).

* For starters, I had to make Starbuck fly a Raptor because I needed something with jump capability to get her into the future.
