Fic: Time Warp

I used the opportunity of [livejournal.com profile] picowrimo (write 500 or 5,000 words in November) to finish a Blake's 7 / Star Trek: The New Generation story I started about two years ago. Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] astrogirl2 for not just beta-reading but also Star Trek nit-picking. :-)

A spatial anomaly throws the Enterprise 700 years into the future where it encounters the Liberator. It's set not long after 'Breakdown' and is fairly light-hearted.

Link to the story on my site:

I also realised that I hadn't put my Blake's 7 / Heroes story on my site, so I rectified that.

Save the Bounty Hunter, Save the Galaxy

Awwww. I liked the twist about the food.

And it's canon! I can't remember the episode, but a guy suddenly appears in a concrete pit during an experiment and has to be sent back to his own timeline after a few days for the same reason. I can see the pit scene in my mind, but can I remember the ep or the ST series? :-P

Really liked the story.

Thanks!

Fun dialogue in Time Warp. :^) I did notice two tiny typos.

Assembles instead of assembled.
"Did you know that their food is created from component atoms assembles into the required molecules?"

And had instead of head.
She shook her had as Gan stepped back and put a defensive hand to his head.

Thanks; fixed! You know, I read that thing through again before posting?

I firmly believe that the act of posting a story causes typos to magically appear.

How fortunate (or is it? that the most tolerant bloke on the Liberator was the one who met the unspeakable Wesley...

I was going to have him with Geordi but of course he'd be busy.

A Heroes fan, then? :-)

I liked it and a good reason for them not to stay - They'd die of thirst or starve. Of course no need to tell Blake that.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-11-27 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly! He can go on thinking they're loyal followers.

Nice story. I think you've caught the Enterprise's crew very well.

I only found one tiny thing to quibble with. I'm not a beer drinker myself, but my understanding is that - unlike lager - real ale should be served at room temperature, becausing chilling it reduces the flavour. It's possible that Picard did not know that and that Blake was too polite to correct him, of course.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-11-27 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you!

Ah. I think Picard and Blake would both know that (I drink my beer cold; it's my mistake) so I'll correct that when I get home. :-)

Nothing constructive to add, except that I enjoyed the story.

Thanks!

Thoroughly enjoyed this, many thanks. Your Vila is a delight:

"They could've nicked it," said Vila. "Like you did."

Thank you! That's our Vila though, always a delight. Well, except in 'Traitor' when I could give him a right slap.
