vilakins: (ashley)

Thank you to all of those who sent me cards by email or post: [livejournal.com profile] imhilien, [livejournal.com profile] san_valentine, [livejournal.com profile] jhall1, [livejournal.com profile] spacefall, [livejournal.com profile] zoefruitcake, [livejournal.com profile] vjezkova, and also to [livejournal.com profile] zoefruitcake for the Terry's chocolate orange bars, and [livejournal.com profile] vjezkova for the berry beads and gingerbread decoration (see photo below). I do apologise if I've missed anyone.

Here are photos of our tree (with bonus Ashley), what Greg gave me this year, and me with shiny hair just after a salon visit this week, since [livejournal.com profile] kalypso_v asked to see one last time. I am slack at dealing with photos, but I finally got round to it today. There will be another post of cat photos to follow.

Take a picture of what is outside of your window right now and post it.

And while I'm at it, here's my summer tree, inside two windows. :-) I found some very cheap summer-related decorations on-line that are unbreakable, so I put up a tree that celebrates summer, sand, and sea. The kittens have batted the lower ones round a bit, but they can't hurt them, or be hurt by them.

vilakins: Vila with a party hat and a glass of wine (xmas)

There was a power cut last night (right in the middle of Eureka as they were firing up a massive magnetic field generator which was strangely disconcerting) and I found it hard to sleep with no fan so I've felt pretty knackered today. However I have put up my Christmas tree tree of light tree of glassy planets and model spaceships, though I mourn the purple gas giant I broke when I dropped it onto the side of a plant pot.

I meant to have posted my latest B7 review by now but hmm. Tomorrow is another day (and a fast approaching one).

As I bought a new charger for my camera this week (the old one will probably therefore turn up) I can subject you to picspam.

I've put my tree up with the now traditional glass planets and various spaceships. I now have seven: Liberator, Red Dwarf, Starbug, and assorted Babylon 5 ships. I can't find the camera charger (and suspect I'll have to buy a new one) but if you want pics, it looks pretty much the same as last year's.

And yay, this year I get to go to a staff Christmas lunch; it's tomorrow. Pity it's the day I'm also trying to get a magazine ready to be printed, but hey, I once wrote a program after a boozy and riotous IT Christmas lunch and it worked first time.

Oh and I suppose it's time to roll out the seasonal red hat icon.

vilakins: (liberator)

I put my tree up today and decorated it with wooden apples, planets glass balls and spaceships. I've had the Liberator on it for the last three or so years and added five Babylon 5 vessels last year (Babylon 5 itself, a Narn fighter, a Centauri heavy warship, a Centauri transport, and a Minbari flyer). This year I've also got Red Dwarf and Starbug. I took pictures because Greg wanted me to e-mail them to him in Singapore.

For cat-lovers, here's a site a friend just sent me a link to which shows what two cats can do to a Christmas tree: Tree Decorating 101.

This is a test of the new rich text mode to see how it works.

I never had a Christmas tree until a couple of years ago when I saw some beautiful glass ornaments in a shop and had to buy a tree to put them on. I got an artificial one as I hate the idea of killing a baby tree then displaying the poor dead thing for a month.

I have the Liberator on mine amongst a lot of planet-shaped baubles.
