Thank you to all of those who sent me cards by email or post: imhilien, san_valentine, jhall1, spacefall, zoefruitcake, vjezkova, and also to zoefruitcake for the Terry's chocolate orange bars, and vjezkova for the berry beads and gingerbread decoration (see photo below). I do apologise if I've missed anyone.

Here are photos of our tree (with bonus Ashley), what Greg gave me this year, and me with shiny hair just after a salon visit this week, since kalypso_v asked to see one last time. I am slack at dealing with photos, but I finally got round to it today. There will be another post of cat photos to follow.

It has the usual glass planets on it with spaceships, plus some balls I got last year with cats' names on them to commemorate previous and current cat friends.


You san see the Czech gingerbread decoration vjezkova sent me, Jasmin and Ashley's glitterballs (there are five others), the Liberator near a blue gas giant, and to the right, the blue behind the branches is the Babylon 5 station.

What Greg gave me: two artist's posable mannequins and some oil pastels. I already have a very large set of very small oil pastels, worn down to less than the length of my thumbnail in most cases, and I've wanted mannequins for a while. A wonderful gift!


And finally me just after going to the hairdresser last week. My hair never looks as nice when I do it.

Wow, that's a drastic change! Mine is a bob to just above the chin, and shaped at the back, rather like Christopher Robin's. I never thought a bob would suit me, but this does.

Thanks! I had extra decorations on the tree this year, what with the cat ones (which I hung on the walls last year), four new bronze balls, and the sea-themed glittery decorations.

A few years ago, all I had was the wooden apples, but I've gradually acquired more stuff. I don't think I can fit much more on now! Luckily the cats aren't interested; my sister had a kitten (now adult) which shredded her tree. She'd climb it and go nuts.

An online place offered them, presumably for people, and I thought it would be a cool way of remembering my cats, esp since Tessa had died just a few months before. I picked colours I thought matched their looks or personalities, a different one for each. Then Ashley came, and I just managed to get a late order in for her! So I have seven in all.

I am very pleased with my hair. It's a bit shorter than it has been up till the last cut, and it's easier to look after.

Your hair is lovely and thick and glossy. You're lucky you don't have to blow-dry it to make it look the way I like mine to.

It's certainly not thick and glossy! It bulks out a bit when it's newly washed, but most of the time it's pretty thin... is that the word? Sparse?

Ashley is very neat with her tail. And when she carried it upright, it's fluffy and white underneath. :-) She's the flag-tailed tabby cat.

I was going to ask about the tree. Didn't you lose a bauble or two to the cubs last year?

I didn't put baubles on last year; just some cheap sea-themed decorations. This year I waited a day to see how they reacted before putting up the breakable ones, and neither year were the cubs interested. They don't move, you see!

I did break one myself the year before though. :-(
