Tree!

I've put my tree up with the now traditional glass planets and various spaceships. I now have seven: Liberator, Red Dwarf, Starbug, and assorted Babylon 5 ships. I can't find the camera charger (and suspect I'll have to buy a new one) but if you want pics, it looks pretty much the same as last year's.

And yay, this year I get to go to a staff Christmas lunch; it's tomorrow. Pity it's the day I'm also trying to get a magazine ready to be printed, but hey, I once wrote a program after a boozy and riotous IT Christmas lunch and it worked first time.

Oh and I suppose it's time to roll out the seasonal red hat icon.

Yay! What's the Liberator in orbit around this year?

A purple gas giant (same as last year, though I also have a blue one).

I've reached my icon's state of mind. Everything needs to be done *now* and now I'm back at work I don't have time to do it now. The tree is still in a cupboard somewhere with the decorations and I'm too busy knitting wraps for my cousins for their next cruise to be bothered to find them. Have a nice lunch, I have to wait for the 21st for our evening buffet and disco. I have bought the perfect little black dress though so some things are going right.

Yeah, it's so hard to find the time for it all. I designed a card last night that I'll print off today, but the gifts I was going to make? Not even started, and I haven't found anything for my brother. Right, Fair Trade shop on Saturday (along with Casino Royale); they always have interesting stuff.

It was your icon that inspired my addition to Pipin. I'll get into the mood next weekend, Beth and I are going to pick holy on the mountain. To me that is the real beginging of Christmas

More programming should be riotous and boozy.

It frees the creative and logical mind!

This reminds me of the dreadful joke emitted by one of my friends one late-night-developer-lock-in. "I write drivers better when I'm drunk."

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-12-06 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
And it could well be true!

I see you've modified your icon. :-)

Very cool! It really captures that feel of the B7 universe with all those planets hurtling at you.

Hee! Thanks!

Ah so that's how the BBC special effects department did the planets - christmas baubles.

We're going "Gothmas" this year black christmas tree and black and silver streamers! Red strands of beads and baubles for the tree!

Oh, dead cool! Will you put up pics?

At one place I worked, we did a black Friday lunch with all black or dark food: rye bread, olives, tapenade, black jelly beans, plums, licorice, blackberries and blueberries, dark chocolate, Maori potatoes (purple all the way through) and a lot of stuff I can't remember now.

Aiee! I haven't even thought about the Christmas tree yet. The Christmas presents are a bit more under control, though. Thanks to NaNoArMo and [livejournal.com profile] glarmaco I've been making a fair few necklaces, so at least I already have presents for the female-type persons.

And I guess it's time to change over to the Christmas icon...

I still have some gifts to buy. Greg's the hardest; I'll have to have a look at ThinkGeek.

I thought your Christmas icon was Avon and the star. :-)

It was originally, then for a short while (last year?) it was this: no santa but I decided on the "wise men" after that because the "no santa" one just made me feel grumpy.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-12-07 08:52 am (UTC)(link)
I held out for a while on the santa hat because I don't like them or the tradition, but they made people happy so I gave in and made one. :-P This was my original Christmas icon, but I now use it for any celebration-type occasion.
