vilakins: (oh bum)
Oh joy. We're going into three days of level 4 (highest) lockdown at midnight - and a whole 7 days for Auckland and Coromandel where someone with the Delta variant has been. Because Delta's so dangerous and infectious, the government's "going fast and hard". Normally this wouldn't inconvenience me much, working from home, but we both have important work and meetings on this week, me here and Greg in Christchurch, that are now cancelled or delayed. It's seriously bad timing, but hey, I'd rather be safe (if stressed).

I daresay people are out in mass panic-buying TP and flour as I type, even though supermarkets will be staying open, as they always do.

I might as well do a couple of these, then binge some Netflix.

16. What was the dumbest thing you ever did as a teenager?
I'd say probably coming off my motorbike when I was at university, breaking my leg just before my first-year finals. I did all my exams in the same accessible room with an extra chair so I could put my leg up in its cast. Despite this stupidity, I passed all my subjects (physics, chemistry, maths).

17. Would you prefer wooden flooring or carpet in your home?
Easy: wooden - and that's what we have. One of the first things we did before even moving in was to have the crappy old carpet ripped up and the rimu (native timber) floors and stairs polished.
