Wheat-bag cat

Some of you may remember the freebie cat slippers and dog slippers I got for buying Hill's Science Diet for my cats (and the cat ones are on offer again at the vet); I know some of you found them disturbing. Brace yourselves. Today I went to the Four Seasons pet supply shop for more food and I got another free gift.

A wheat-bag cat! You heat him up in the microwave and cuddle him to warm up. I have long wheat-bags I can drape round my neck for that but maybe I'll use this guy to seduce cats into more lap-time. His over-large snout makes him look strangely dog-like in profile but his B&W reminds me of Vic.

30 Days Of Fan Fiction: Day 10

10 – Have you ever gone outside your comfort zone and written a pairing you liked, but found you couldn't write, or a pairing you didn't like, and found you could?

As I said, I'm not into pairings. If you forget that aspect of it, I'd still say "not really". I'm happy to put just about any two (or more) characters together in a story which is why I sign onto challenges like Multiverse and the "fic walks into a bar" challenge (where you write your chosen character with a randomly chosen one).

I suppose the closest to being out of my comfort zone was the Vila walks into a bar and meets Acastus Kolya one, a character I'd never have thought of writing. And my current WIP stars Zen whom I'm not finding at all easy to write. But in general I enjoy the challenge of not doing my usual stuff.

Correct use of the ampersand and slash

Hey, look: fanfic gets a mention in xkcd's latest strip! But what if someone wants to write friendship for them?

And I happen to know there is now some slash. ;-)
