They've been working on the water mains in our street (for two months, blocking it so there's only one way in) and today there's no water all day from 9-5. So after Pilates later this morning, I'm spending the rest of the day at the Brydone Hotel because lunch, comfy seats, cakes and hot drinks, and loos. It will be a pain having to wear a mask except when eating or drinking, but I'll be immersed in Andy Weir's Project Hail Mary which I'm picking up from the library shortly. As it's a recent acquisition, less than a year old, I only get a week to read it so I should be able to get through a fair bit today.

I had to google what Hail Mary means in the US.

I should catch up on these while I'm at it.

17. Have you ever been a part of a wedding party?
Yes, bridesmaid for my sister. And of course there was my wedding.

18. What song are you listening to at the moment?
None. My brain doesn't work well verbally if I can hear song lyrics or conversation. Someone said it's auditory processing disorder, but I've looked that up and I don't think so because I have no problems hearing and understanding if there are no other verbal distractions, and if there are, I also have difficulty reading.

19. What was the last piece of furniture you purchased?
A wooden shoe cabinet to go in the entrance hall. It's a bit different from most particle-board ones in that it's all wood, looks interesting, and suits this old house.

20. Do you have an iPod?
No.
