July questions 24-27

25. What's one thing you wish you owned right now?
A garage. The rickety and dangerous old one built out from the street, which we never used because it was tiny and a car might drop through the floor onto the woodpile underneath, was demolished three years ago. At this point we had a driveway put in down to the back of the house, but the builders who were meant to start work on the garage dragged their feet so much (a huge problem here) we gave up and found someone else. The engineer who was meant to draw up plans for council approval then took 6 months longer than he said he would; his excuse was lockdown, but he works from home. Finally we got plans and permits, and the ground was prepared and a retaining wall put in last month, but the current builders are off on another job.
In the meantime, all the stuff you'd normally have in a garage is in the house. And I am so very sick of it.
Most houses in town were built before there were those indulgent modern things called garages, so you're lucky to get a tiny one on the street added in the 1930s-50s which wouldn't take most modern cars. We figure that actually having a big double garage with storage (and a deck on top with great views) will give us a huge advantage when we sell. And enable me to declutter the place. Bring it on!
26. Do you like makeup?
We already covered this. Yes, because it makes me look better.
27. Which celebrity death(s) affected you the most?
As I also already said, I don't know any of them (though I've met a few actors), so I don't feel it personally unlike many seem to. OK, I'd pick Terry Pratchett when he became ill, because that was a cruel and terrifying way to go, and I regret that his life and work were cut off too soon.
I seem to be different from most people in this, maybe because of aspieness? Don't judge me.
