Kittens

We're off into the equinox gales to see the little kitten I'm getting from a friend in the country in a few weeks. She's the one I got Claudia from, and she also now breeds Bengals who are spotty and leopard-like, but out of our price range (and also liable to be nicked). We're getting another Burmese because Greg likes them and Claudia may be more welcoming to a kitten who is slightly related, but I'd like the next one to be from The Lonely Miaow charity.

There will be kitten picspam tomorrow.

OOH! Oddly enough I was just saying to someone via messenger that I needed to play with a kitten.

I feel I had a deprived childhood, not purposely of course, but being allergic my parents kept me away. Now I am older I know not to stroke the kitten and them rub my eyes/get it all over my clothing etc.

Do wonder where I might be likely to be able to get access to one / several.

I met a nice puppy in the park and had a play with that so I don't feel so deprived on that front now!

I've sometimes reacted to our cats when they've been in certain plants. Do you have a friend with a kitten or young cat?

Go to a Cats Protection League home if you can find one near you. They not only take in and re-home strays and unwanted kittens but also take in cats that the owners can no longer look after, for example an elderly person having to go into a care home. They encourage visitors to go amongst these cats and play with them. Granted they won't be kittens but they are just as soothing to pet, even more so as they sit still longer. I'm not sure but they might even let you play with the babies if they have any in at that time.
