3D meez at work

First [livejournal.com profile] snowgrouse mentioned this site where you can make a 3D animated doll, then [livejournal.com profile] zoefruitcake created one of herself in a library reading a book. So I had to have a go. You do have to create an account though, and I also found it very annoying that once I'd selected an animation, I couldn't not have one, so I gave up and gave my doll a paper lunch bag to swing in her office. It was better than most of the options, but luckily you can link to an unanimated version.

She looks a bit spooked but that's pretty much what I wore today, and I do keep my lunch in a paper bag in the fridge. :-P

Right, I'm off to bed now. It's the weekend, yay, I can sleep late!

Hurrah for the weekend! Sleep well, and enjoy the time off.

I managed till 9:30am! That's the latest for a while. I could have done without the nightmare that woke me half-way through the night though.

Film and dinner with friends tonight, yay!

[identity profile] glitterboy1.livejournal.com 2006-07-14 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Ouch for the nightmare, but 9.30 was pretty good going! If I can get back to sleep again, I don't mind too much waking up in the night, because of the chance to think of how much more time there is left until morning.

Have fun this evening! What are you going to see?

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-07-14 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Over the Hedge! I have a list of about five films I want to see, most unusual for me, but two of our friends want to see it too. When I rang to book seats for four, they said, "Two adults, two children?" and I said, "No, four adults," and suppressed the urge to explain that some of us never grow up.

[identity profile] glitterboy1.livejournal.com 2006-07-15 09:13 am (UTC)(link)
Hee! I think I prefer us that way.

Enjoy it! I've been reading reviews in the last week or so, and it sounds fun.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-07-15 09:44 am (UTC)(link)
It was great! They do references to a lot of films, the characters are adorable (my favourite is RJ the thief raccoon) and they do really realistic soft fur these days. I'm so getting this on DVD. There are scenes of sheer brilliance.

[identity profile] snowgrouse.livejournal.com 2006-07-14 11:21 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, so it wants you to register in order to save the buggers? Bah. Silly site, although hard to resist...

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-07-14 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not impressed with the lack of choice in appearance (face, eyes, hair), and that once you choose something from a category, there's no 'none' option so you're stuck with picking something. And 'try on' does not mean that; it means 'use'.

I was considering making a Vila but I'd have to register as him.

[identity profile] snowgrouse.livejournal.com 2006-07-15 09:25 am (UTC)(link)
There's nothing there that looks like Vila, all the male faces have this really stupid giant jaw and a goofy grin on that looks nothing like any humans I've seen...

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-07-15 09:45 am (UTC)(link)
I made a Vila, but yeah, the guys' mouths are froglike, or possibly simian. Argh!

[identity profile] zoefruitcake.livejournal.com 2006-07-14 11:33 am (UTC)(link)
yours is less creepy than mine :0)
I think I prefer these little icon ones, less odd

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-07-14 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Me too.

[identity profile] azdak.livejournal.com 2006-07-14 12:03 pm (UTC)(link)
My, vilakins, what big eyes you have!

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-07-14 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, huge, bulbous, and showing the whites. What did you do to scare me so?

[identity profile] azdak.livejournal.com 2006-07-15 06:25 am (UTC)(link)
Oooh, when you speak, what big teeth you have!

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-07-15 09:50 am (UTC)(link)
[modestly] These old things? Had them most of my life. It's a bit chilly in here; now wear did I put my red hoodie?

[identity profile] jhall1.livejournal.com 2006-07-14 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
She's very cute. :)

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-07-14 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks! She's rather like a 3D anime, all eyes.

[identity profile] lizamanynames.livejournal.com 2006-07-15 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
That's awesome! She does look quite a bit like you, yeah.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-07-15 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
And I'm actually growing my hair a little longer at the sides (but keeping it short at the back) so the hair is a better approximation than it would have been a few months ago. Apart from my shirt under my green jacket being green and white stripes rather than plain white, she's dressed as I was yesterday. Which wasn't quite enough layers for the cold. Brrr.

Oh right, it's winter right now there! How cold is it? I might want to swap... it's been so brutally hot here...

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-07-15 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
You wouldn't want to swap. It's about 10C with 70% humidity. It's damp, even on non-rainy days. In summer, the humidity goes up to the 80s and 90s. How much is yours? I just told someone in the UK who complained about 30% how bloody lucky they are.

[identity profile] lizamanynames.livejournal.com 2006-07-15 08:18 am (UTC)(link)
I'd TAKE the 70% humidity if it only gets that cold. Wet cold is better than wet hot, IMHO. Though in summer - yikes. I might not be able to breath that soup...

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-07-15 09:46 am (UTC)(link)
It sometimes gets so that I feel ill if I do something, yeah. As for winter? I've lived in Germany and I'll take freezing (and therefore dry) cold any day. Your clothes actually insulate you. Wet cold air just gets right to your bones. I have Russian friends who say they were never so cold till they came here.
