Well, I saw Serenity, not that it was even the same ship. I should have gone with my first instincts.

As soon as I heard there were reavers, I didn't want to go. But people said no, it's not that bad. It's shiny. People leave with smiles on their faces. Huh.

Then I suspected from a careless comment in someone's LJ that they were going to kill at least one crewmember. I was afraid it would be one of my favourites. I was right.

And what's with all the planets and moons being in one solar system, just to name one massive nit-pick? [tears at hair] SF doesn't mean 'make up the science'. Let's have another pick, shall we: fist-fights between severely-wounded people that go on forever? Really, it doesn't take that much to knock out or disable a person. I will give them points for not dropping the operative through the huge SF-cliche fan though.

There were some very good Jaynisms and other witty moments but I'm still feeling let down. I should have just stuck with the series.
