Day 16 - Mexican ceramic cat

This is one of a pair of matched hand-painted ceramic cats. It has similar colouring to the lizard so I wonder if that's a traditional style. The cats come from Tonala but the lizard just has "Mexico" underneath.

I gave her a hot background to remind me of Mexican sun in this very cold winter. :-) On her back she has two leaves, two flowers, and a bird, all green. :-)

Ely cathedral viewed across poppy fields :)

Doubly wonderful, then! I've heard that Ely is a very beautiful cathedral.

Ely cathedral is awesome and dates from 1083.It's huge and towers over this tiny town. You have to go inside to really appreciate it's beauty and uniqueness :)

I have a Czech Anglophile friend who says it is her favourite; it moves her to tears.

Awww, how nice. I doubt your Czech friend is alone there. The icon is the inside of the octagon tower (the lantern).
