More stuff
I remembered a couple of things I was going to post about last time and couldn't think of.
Knitting party
This was at Spotlight on Saturday afternoon so I went along to see what it was. It was a group of people from a young girl who had just learned to older ladies sitting round a table knitting squares for blankets for the children's hospital while being plied with tea, coffee, biscuits, and mini chocolate bars. The conversation was excellent and I completed a sort of camo square with stripes. All yarn was also 20% off so I bought some but totally forgot I'd promised to make my sister a beret so I'll have to buy that at full price. Oh well.
One knitter said that Middlemore Hospital provides the yarn and needles for waiting visitors to use to make squares which I think is a great idea.
Largest Blake's 7 poll ever
This poll covers all forms of B7 (audio and books etc) in which "you can rate not only your favourite episodes, but your favourite audios and comics as well". I couldn't answer for a lot of those but I did vote for the episodes and novels at the top, the two old radio plays, then scrolled down to the title sequence ratings and answered from then on. There's a prize for one random voter. But anyway, have fun and express your opinion of Ben Steed. ;-)
Hit again
This depressed country has not just had earthquakes and floods but also a tornado in north Auckland. Enough already.

But there's no 'zero' option....
And yes, truly, surely we've had a sufficiency of natural disasters for a while now.

Sorry to hear of another disaster in your country. Several of my family live in an area that is also having a lot of flooding and tornadoes. So far, they're okay, but I keep checking on them. Weather seems to be strange in many places. It is high desert where we live, normally very little rain. Last week, our county was under flood watch because of heavy rain + melting snow causing flooding in some areas.
I've never seen Blake's 7 but I've heard about it. Will try to watch it some time if I can find it.

A local tv station has the original (70s/80s) Battlestar Gallactica series on Saturday nights. That one seems more funny than good now, but I watch it once in awhile, just for fun.

And yes, enough already. I trust all your people were fine?
B7 poll! Thank you for the heads up!

There was a tornado in Albany years ago and I remember saying before it (in the city) that the weird yellow sky meant bad weather. We do have smaller tornadoes that do damage; a friend in west Auckland lost his chimney and part of his roof to one. They've caused a lot of damage in a lot of places but usually don't injure and kill (mainly by sheer luck).

Sorry to hear about the tornado. You guys need a break already.

We could do with a financial one, that's for sure. Hardly any jobs and those badly paid, but I bet we'd feel a lot better if things improved there. Yeah, fat chance.

My rellies just headed back to NZ where they're living in temporary accomodation due to the quakes. Just seems a bit neverending :( Hope nature is gentler in the next few months.

I can't see it getting better with the misery of winter coming on. Yay, more floods. :-(

Ben Steed ICK. My vote for bottom of the barrel went to him, too.
