Day 24 - Art Deco Dayna and Soolin

Today's [livejournal.com profile] naarmamo drawing is another Art Deco Blake's 7 one.

Art Deco Dayna and Soolin

They're checking out Dayna's latest remote-controlled bomb. :-) I didn't have much choice of costumes for poor Soolin, and though Dayna's Greek huntress dress would have looked very cool, I wanted some colour to contrast with Soolin so I went for her green pantsuit. So they're both in those wide pleated 30s trousers.

My NaArMaMo 2009 Gallery is here.

Both ladies are stunning! Including their make-up. The trousers are superb for them! The bomb is "very Art Deco"! :-)

I think she did have a bomb a bit like that. Oh yes, here it is (http://www.framecaplib.com/b7lib/html/chars/images/cityedge/group/city185.htm). It has three white chevrons instead of one red one. Never mind. :-)

:-) I haven“t seen season 3 and 4 ( only that depressing end)...

I wouldn't bother with season 4. You'll miss Soolin, and I like her, but on the whole it's just too depressing and doesn't have the same look and feel as the rest of B7. It feels tacked on--and it was.

Season 4 does have some excellent stories, mainly in the second half of the season. Games is fun (though there's a big hole in logic/continuity at the end), plus Gold and Orbit.

It's also important for seeing how the story comes to its end. It's the ending of the character arcs for Blake and Avon and shows the changes that both men have been through. Blake now finds it hard to trust, and hard to know who to trust. Avon used to trust mostly himself, but now doubts himself, and only really trusts Blake. But neither man knows how much the other has changed...

Did you mean this for me, or for [livejournal.com profile] vjezkova? :-) I admit that Gold and Games have good moments, but in general it's a mess that succeeds in being both bleak and OTT.

It's worth watching even S4 if you can- if you hate it, at least you'll know what you're hating when people discuss things. And there are innumerable things that led to great fanfic (Avon being sold, Avon being knocked unconscious a billion times, Servalan as Sleer is even more evil, Tarrant and Servalan in bed, etc). And it really does help to make sense of the last episode to know what led up to it.

And you may not hate it. It's very different from S1 and S2, but it seemed a logical progression to me and I like most of the episodes for different reasons (sometimes *because* they go so over the top, sometimes because they had really good ideas.)

Thank you for that, I will work on it:-)
