Kitten (and cat) picspam
The breeder I bought Claudia from has become a friend over the years through regular cards and letters (I send her photos of Claudia with news about her) so we decided to get our next kitten from her too, seeing The Lonely Miaow doesn't yet have any. (The next one's from them though, I hope not as urgently). We went down yesterday to see Patsy and her lovely cats, even though we already knew we were getting the only chocolate girl. She has Burmese and Bengals, plus a couple of dogs, and a parrot she told us had died the day before at 30. :-P
We're getting a chocolate because the seal and blue are too much like Claudia and Tessa and will remind us too much of them. She will be called Jasmin as that's the only name in a long list I made that Greg liked. To see what she'll look like as an adult, see Patsy's Burmese page. And we get her in about three weeks!
And because I failed to get decent photos of her magnificent Bengals, here's her Bengal page showing their gorgeous coats.
Picspam follows.
The photo Patsy sent me of our future kitten (on the left, I think) with her brother.
Burmese litter including Jasmin and her brother (at left and second from right). Once they're 6-8 weeks they move out of Patsy's house into the huge heated kitten rooms where there's lots of room to play, fresh air, sunshine, and grass. I took photos through the netting.
Patsy shows us Jasmin and her brother. Yes, the netting got in the way. But look, their eyes are already turning golden! Their fur will get darker as they grow up, eventually turning a warm cafe-au-lait with chocolate points.
Patsy with a Bengal kitten. Altogether now: awwwwww!
There were about ten adult cats roaming around in the house, all wanting to be friendly and noticed. They were just lovely! This one's a blue, like Claudia.
This seal one's so like Tessa (minus her pointed ear tufts), you can see why it would be hard to have another one.
A cute little Bengal teenager who wouldn't stay still. He had the most amazing blue-green opal eyes, which I gather is quite rare.
A very young litter in the house which I snapped though the window as we were leaving. Five baby Tessas - or possibly six!

"The Bengal was developed in the States by crossing the forest dwelling Asian Leopard cats, (Felis Bengalensis) to domestic cats resulting in a medium to large breed that resembles in miniature the mesmerising, exotic looks, and attraction of the wild's big cats."
There were so cute and friendly--the guy with opal eyes leaped up on furniture to get closer to us (like our cats do). Apparently they really feel the heat though and don't like being picked up or sitting on laps.

The Bengal with the amazing blue-green eyes was beautiful.

The Bengal boy will stay with Patsy as he has a kidney condition, but he was absolutely beautiful and so friendly and lively.

It would probably be sad having a cat that looked just like Tessa. :(

I did rather lust after a Bengal, but they do get big.

I once heard of a kitten named Jasmine-- but when it grew up and it became obvious it was a guy, they renamed him Jazzman. :^)

Squee!
The bengal kittens definitely reinforce my conviction Kitsune must be part Bengal her coat colour at least on the top is more spots than stripes. The shape of her face is the same too.
Here she is stretched out next to K'zin, who in spite of his name is an old softy.
