Fannish things near my computer
As started by
executrix and picked up by
shimere277: fannish things near my computer.
On the top shelf of my computer desk:
- a Corgi Liberator
- the pipecleaner S1 Liberator crew made by the talented
kalypso_v who are standing in front of Zen - a teleport bracelet
- three Daleks and a Cybermat
- Rimmer and Lister, Red Dwarf and Starbug
- assorted Babylon 5 ships
- Babylon 5 figures: G'Kar, Londo, Vir, Sheridan, and Delenn
- Picard
- Buzz Lightyear and a three-eyed green alien
- five signed photos of Michael Keating--four as Vila, and one as himself raising a glass of wine to me
- a hand-coloured Bizarro cartoon of the Liberator parked in a funfair car park with the crew standing outside it looking at the laundry caught on a prong
- Gandalf and the statues of the ancient kings
- Asterix figures: Asterix, Obelix, Panacea holding Dogmatix, Julius Caesar, a centurion, and a legionary
- Not fannish as such but geeky: two legionaries and a cow dressed as a gladiator

I am in deep envy of your Asterix figures, your pipecleaner Liberator, and your cow gladiator.

The cow is in this icon. She's the right size for the legionaries too. I found the Asterix figures at a fair I was taking part in. :-) You can see a lot of my things in this post (http://vilakins.livejournal.com/197459.html) :-)
You aren't going to market B7 figures, are you?

Are the Red Dwarf bits licensed merchandise or what? Action figures? Statutes? The way you've got it listed sounds like you've got the actors and ships just RIGHT THERE, ahahahaha. (I only ask 'cause I didn't know they came out with figures for it, and think I'd like some if they did!)
I'm glad to know you've got lots of fannish goodies. Makes me feel slightly less . . . obsessive.

I haven't even mentioned all the plushies and shiny satin reptiles! :-D
I have small Rimmer and Lister figures about the length of my thumb and larger Red Dwarf and Starbug, both on stands. I got all of them from Amazon.co.uk. [goes to look] Here you go:
Red Dwarf (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Red-Dwarf-Mothership/dp/B0002X837M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=kids&qid=1200704435&sr=1-1)
Rimmer, Lister, and Starbug (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dwarf-Starbug-Lister-Rimmer-figures/dp/B0002T1TQ8/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=kids&qid=1200704435&sr=1-3)
I got them a while ago on special. You can also get Starbug by itself.

As my computer is a laptop the number of fannish things nearby varies.

Picard is in fact sitting with his legs over the edge of the shelf; he has articulated limbs.

There's a magnet with a pic of Wedge, and X-wings approaching the first Death Star. That's holding a sheet of Star Wars stamps from America.
There are three different model Wedges: 1 12" articulated figure; 1 10" moulded figure that actually looks rather like Denis Lawson, and 1 4" moulded figure that doesn't look anything like Denis Lawson.
There's also a model kit snowspeeder that I made and painted a good few years ago. It has Wedge's name on the side, where you are supposed to put 'Luke Skywalker'.
I'm consistent :)

My Vila pictures probably tip the scales here, though if there was B7 merchandise available I'd probably have it. Of course it would probably only relate to Avon and/or Servalan.

It would feel more at home here.
