Shiny knitting

First it was a Dalek, but now someone kniited a Firefly! OK, who has a pattern for the Liberator? ;-)

Yes! Yes! Though I like the Firefly, a Liberator one is a must!

White, green, and metallic gold yarn...

hmm who can we recruit to do this? I'm hopeless with knitting of any kind. I'm going off to dinner now. Will continue this knitting caper later.

Not me. I need a pattern. :-P

And I'm off to bed.

cute, but I don't think it is as successful as the dalek

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-11-05 09:56 am (UTC)(link)
No, but it's made me want a soft cuddly Lib. :-P

Haha... now I've got a picture of a knitted Millennium Falcon in my head.

It would have to be easier than trying to knit the Liberator. I like the idea of a knitted Liberator, but I'm sure it would require a great deal of faff.

I may have a bash at a knitted dalek though. I'll have to study the pattern, to see how complicated it is.

I think I'm better off with Doctor Who scarves...

[identity profile] sallymn.livejournal.com 2007-11-05 09:58 am (UTC)(link)
Nononono, the Liberator should be raffiawork :)

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-11-05 10:01 am (UTC)(link)
[head explodes]

[identity profile] kalinda001.livejournal.com 2007-11-05 10:02 am (UTC)(link)
I don't have time to look it up now...but what is raffiawork?

[identity profile] jaxomsride.livejournal.com 2007-11-05 04:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Not Raffia, Macrame with a large green glass bead for the back bit.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-11-05 07:20 pm (UTC)(link)
That might work! It needs to be stiffer than knitting anyway.

[identity profile] entropy-house.livejournal.com 2007-11-06 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
Crochet would probably be easier. :^)

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-11-06 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
Actually, it would be! And stiffer too.

[identity profile] entropy-house.livejournal.com 2007-11-06 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
I once crocheted a three-foot long wasp using no pattern, just eyeballing the shape. I was ... very ugly. But it worked!

The 'yellowjacket' was the mascot of Georgia Tech, where my brother was studying. Not that he wanted it, but I had yellow and black yarn left over from something else and I wondered if I could do it.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-11-06 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, that makes sense now. :-P

[identity profile] entropy-house.livejournal.com 2007-11-06 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
Also, it looked really cool when I put it in a tree. :^)

[identity profile] linda-joyce.livejournal.com 2007-11-06 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I can knit but I do need a pattern. I might have a go at a Dalek but I don't think in 3D well enough to graph a pattern , I could do a flat version though.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-11-06 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't know how to work out a pattern either. The Liberator would also need something to stiffen its prongs. :-P

Oh that is an easy one, pipe cleaners, you can get them in craft shops.
