Farscape news

From the www.BBC.co.uk/cult website:

The Farscape mini-series is going to be big, says Henson.

Talking to SFX magazine, the director and executive producer of the Farscape mini-series, Brian Henson, says: "It's great, it's big, it's epic. I think it's going to be the biggest thing there has ever been."

"It was tough to figure out how to make a big event mini-series of Farscape when on every episode we were trying to make a movie a week," he adds, before revealing a little bit about the plot:

"It's basically the continuing love story of Crichton and Aeryn... set against a backdrop of a full, all-out, intergalactic war between the Scarrans and the Peacekeepers."

Henson also reveals that far from closing the Farscape book, the end of the mini-series creates a whole new set of possibilities for the franchise.

Sorry, [livejournal.com profile] astrogirl2, it looks like more John/Aeryn and Stark didn't even get a mention, but we can always hope. Still, it sounds great. I'll look forward to the DVDs--of course they'll never show it here despite us having actors in it.

Woo! Thanks for the pointer!

It's so sweet of them to give a nod to a minor character like Crichton. And anything that gets Aeryn naked, I guess. Stark goes without saying.

Yeah, I wish.

Yep! There's a bit more info, I think, to be found over at Save Farscape (http://savefarscape.com), but not a whole lot. Word is that they got all the actors back, so I'm very much assuming that includes Paul Goddard, even though he's never been mentioned by name.

It is supposed to be big. According to Henson, they nearly exhausted Australia's supply of pyrotechnics. :)

And of course it's more John/Aeryn. I am resigned to this, even if I don't agree with the show's writers (and a large subset of the fans) that the J/A relationship is the heart and soul of the show...

Yeah, I read that in an interview of Claudia and Ben mentioned in your blog. Can't wait! (Though of course I'll have to--much longer then everyone else.)

Aw, that's true. Goodness only knows when NZ will get it... Maybe you can get someone to send you a copy?

I'll keep an eye out for DVDs. At least I can play any region.

Btw, is it ridiculous of me, do you think, that despite my joy at getting to see the story continued, I'm a little sad at the thought that my post-"Bad Timing" Stark story is undoubtedly about to become AU? :)

So what? Some of my favourite stories are AUs. :-)

I hope I see the S4 DVDs soon so I can read all of that story, not just selected bits that only whetted my appetite.

You probably could read it, really, as the big spoiler is something you already know about (both from having seen the 3rd season ender and from having heard about it elsewhere). There are a lot of little references to other things, though, including a bunch of stuff having to do with one particular 4th season ep, and a throwaway reference that is a big spoiler if you stop to think about it. So, hmm, maybe not. And you really wanna watch the 4th season DVDs, anyway. :)

And, yeah, there's nothing wrong with AUs, but, man, I pretty much had myself believing that that was what actually happened, and now I'm gonna have to re-write those parts of my brain. :)
