Ficathons
The Finishathon voting has ended, and there was only one vote between each of the three stories I submitted, which got 11, 12, and 13 votes respectively. I'm relieved however that the winner is the one that isn't likely to turn into a novella. I have no idea how it ends, but I suppose I can just start writing and see where it goes.
I have till 26 October, so I should knock my Labor Day party one off ASAP as that's due in two weeks. I have however yet to think up what to write about "clones, androids, or robots", great topics though they are. Ideas would be welcome.

I find that usually works for me, somewhat to my surprise.
And, yay, I do have an idea for my own FC story! Also somewhat to my surprise. I just need to find the time to actually sit down and write the thing.
Alas, though, that was the only idea I had, so I don't have a spare one to suggest to you. But I'm sure you'll come up with something interesting.

So, that's the "prompt", is it? Okay, here's a few ideas:
- Vila gets cloned by an alien cloning machine, and he tries to get his clones to do his work instead of him, but they don't want to.
- Avon's been replaced by an android, and nobody notices except Vila.
- Orac is tired of having to be carried around, and wants a robot/android body. However the easiest one to create is a copy of the Avalon android...

It's probably a sign I need to unsub from Freedom City. I almost did last year, but didn't quite get round to it.

The trouble is that I feel it's my fault the FAQ haven't been updated to show that we moved to a new address more than two years ago, so no one can subscribe unless they know how to ask. And I don't know what more I can do, as I've asked the admins to update the FAQ, I've rewritten the FAQ myself and offered it to them, and I've offered it to the person maintaining the page. But all these attempts have been ignored, so I'm at a loss. And I know the list would have died anyway, because that form of forum has been left behind, and the fandom's very weak too, but I still feel I've hastened the end by not enabling it to attract fresh blood.

Perhaps we would get more members if people could find out how to subscribe via Hermit. Can
There are new young fans coming along on LJ fairly frequently though; perhaps here is the future.

And yes, there's not a lot of point being there unless that one member is drowned out by more interesting posts. But I seem to feel that I can't leave unless I've left the door open.

At least GMail filters her out well, and its threading by subject means I can ignore what doesn't interest me. The Lyst is also moribund. Perhaps it's just that mailing lists have had their day.

I know the Lyst is moribund... but I'm sucked into Doctor Who at the moment, and I get enough discussion of that on my flist to mostly satisfy me.
Maybe we ought to do a "one episode a week" collective viewing thing. I keep on meaning to rewatch B7, but I keep on not getting around to it. Maybe this would get me off my rear and actually do it, if there were other people doing it too.

I haven't watched a whole ep for ages: just bits to refresh my memory. I'd like some impetus to go through the series again (with the exception of 'Blake' and 'Animals').
