Dance, Vila, Dance

All right, I couldn't help myself. I had to do some more dancing Vilas once I found out how to change the dimensions of the canvas.

Season 1 Vila is a happy little guy.
PGP survivor Vila dances in sheer relief, done in answer to [livejournal.com profile] entropy_house's S4 Avon.

I'm getting better at this: his joints are in the right place now. :-)

Hey, they're a nice way of taking my mind off things like cats that won't eat because their meds put their noses out of joint, losing at cricket yet again, and not being able to get holiday accommodation where we want to go till autumn because of 1) booking late and 2) having to work in one of the only two weeks they did have in March. Feh.

There is new season TV to watch though. Heroes tonight, I think.

Oh, shit. This doesn't count as a squick, more a recurring nightmare and huge pet fear. Bugger bugger bugger. I'll have to see if the characters will make up for it.

I don't remember the special effect in that scene well enough to nitpick it

The clock behind him flicked back in time really fast, but the passengers stayed in place. Bad marks to the SFX team then.

Well, it's mostly a threat lurking in the background for most of the season, rather than something that's dealt with on-screen constantly. And, um, it may not actually be a bomb, technically, if that helps any. :)

Yeah, it does. It's the destruction of the whole planet and the sort of loonies (probably Muslims) who'd do it that frighten me. Sigh. I suppose it's frelling terrorists then. I like my SF escapist, not like crappy RL.

But Boston Legal will be on soon with more Shatner comedy, yay, and I hope My Name is Earl comes back soon. That's quirkily brilliant and always cheers me up.

Sigh. I suppose it's frelling terrorists then.

Probably not. :) I don't want to give away spoilers, and it hasn't actually been definitively explained on the show yet, but there've been strong hints that, um, it's actually something else entirely.

Heroes does get a bit squicky at times, with violence and gore, but it really is very much fantasy, and all the bad things that happen tend to tie into the superpower premise. I don't know whether or not I'd call it "escapist," but it's definitely not Battlestar Galactica-style RL-in-space.

(Or, you know, not in space. :))

Cool. I am reassured. The only bit I had to hide my eyes for was the garbage disposal scene. The girl obviously doesn't feel pain which means she'd injure herself all the time without realising, but that's OK if she's self-healing.

I make no guarantees that there won't be other stuff that will put you off, but, hey, I think it's worth giving it a chance.

Come to think of it, I believe that I perhaps found the garbage disposal thing more uncomfortable to watch than any of the (occasionally much gorier) stuff since, but that may be just me. It's probably because I find it disturbingly easy to imagine catching my hand in a garbage disposal, and fairly impossible to imagine experiencnig [spoilers deleted]. :)

I'm the same. [shudders]

I assume there's no eye-squick then. ;-)

Not so far. :)
