Tessa and PC-ness
Not good
Tessa has osteoarthritis, and they say she's had it for a while. So why, I asked, did she rocket up and down the stairs and love to play, and why did it get so bad so suddenly? They couldn't answer the first bit, but apparently it's been aggravated by her either jumping off something too high, or getting into a fight. I have pain-killers for her and some glucosamine sprinkles for her food, though I already give her green-lipped mussel pills. She is not happy. She's curled up on a chair with Claudia cuddled up comfortingly to her, when she'd normally be in here demanding attention. I suppose that's good in one way since they said to make her rest for 3-4 days and I have no idea how to do that.
If she hasn't improved in a week or so, I have to take her in for x-rays.
Somewhat better
The hardware guy brought my work PC back today, but the motherboard still can't recognise the RAID. They unplugged one disc though so at least I have all my data back. However the virus checking software has been dorked, I can't run Outlook due to various bizarre error messages, and the PC doesn't show the internet connection under 'network connections', which may be the same problem. It's hard to test this though since the office's ISP was down all day. It's a step in the right direction though.

On the happier hand - you have your data back, that's a relief!

Yes, that is a huge relief. :-) I just hope they sort out the new problems soon.

I've no idea what the technical terms you use mean but I get the gist, at least you have access to your data now even if the computer is not fully operational.

Tessa seems to be resting well which is what she's supposed to do, and she's gone all cuddly (more so even than usual) so either she's feeling a lot better or she's a bit high on the painkiller. :-)

Maybe you could ask the vet about cod liver oil? I don't know whether it would cause any problems, but it's something she might like the taste & you can just put eyedroppers of the liquid on her food if she likes it.

As for your PC, getting the data back must be a huge relief - and I hope that it means you can run your programs now, too. Fingers crossed for your network connection, now....

I hope it's just something simple, like the hardware guy not knowing what to plug in. I can see the local network but that's all. I'll ring the guy responsible for that when I get to work.

Hopefully, it's a good sign that Tessa is more active than the vet seems to think she should be.

Do you just have the two? We've kinda ended up with 6!

We have three: the two girls, who are great friends, and Vic, a stray we adopted (see icon). I could have had a lot more as our house seems to be a magnet for strays, but so far I've found seven cats homes. :-) Vic was too wild to find a home for at the time, but he's a big, tame smoocher now.
Is that one of yours?

3 of ours are strays two were the "planned" and one was born here.
