Claudication (Claudia by name and condition)
I just got Claudia back from the vet. She hasn't got an injury; she has joint problems. I was warned a couple of years ago that Burmese were prone to them esp if they jump off high places (as my two girls do) but Claudia seemed absolutely fine until Saturday. I have no idea what caused her to get so much worse so suddenly--the very cold damp weather? Jumping off an extra-high place? Anyway, she's on drugs for a couple of weeks then they're going to look at her again. I mentioned the green-lipped mussel pills the health shop sells (in animal and human doses) and the vet said they were good and definitely worth a try, so I'll buy some this week.
Anyway, to cheer myself up, here are some cat icons. Except for the tiger cub (which is one of those I got to play with on my birthday), all cats depicted are mine.

Love the icons, especially the copy cats one

And thanks! They really do copy each other's positions and actions; I'm sure that's where the expression comes from.

Beautiful icons, by the way, but of course they would be, since you have such beautiful cats! :)

Your icon of Happy and the books is lovely and always makes me smile; thanks.

Love the icons. And the verbal trickery is just *evil*;).

You like my icons! [bounce] Here's one I did last night of Vila and Blake.

I know what you mean, about signs that they're getting older. I don't want to think of mine as being ten and nine this year, and I find myself watching them jumping onto and off things, wanting them not to be showing any signs of difficulty.
I love the icons!

Claudia and Tessa are a couple of years older than yours, but when we took them in for their annual shots and check-up a coupled of months ago, the vet said they were both in amazing condition. So this is very unexpected. I assumed she'd been bitten though I couldn't find a wound.

When I image-googled for Egyptian cat yesterday, Tessa popped up at the bottom of page one! Though today she's been relegated to page two.

Yes. it's arthritis which is odd as both girls were in excellent condition at their checkup a couple of months ago. :-(

Gorgeous icons.

I'm sure she'll improve as it came on so suddenly she must have injured it; that or it's the cold weather lately.

My friend with 5 dogs uses Green Lipped Mussel for Edward a Staffie/Border Collie cross with joint troubles and it works miracles on him. It can't be psychosomatic with him he hasn't got the intelligence to think that 'Mum has given me medicine so I'll be better soon', sweet boy though he is.

Well I had a dog that knew where the medicinal brandy was kept and would go and beg under the shelf in the pantry when he was off colour, but my Sooty had more intelligence in his right paw than Edward has in his entire body. Sooty was given brandy as a palliative when we thought he would die of hard pad as a puppy and decided he liked it.
It may be the weather with Claudia too: it's been very cold with saturation humidity,
With me it's the opposite type of weather it has been a glorious summer's week here hot, still and cloudless blue skies with me limping around like Long John Silver. I hope Claudia is better now

Claudia seems better already. She jumped up into her 'muse' position on top of the sofa last night. :-)

It's often made me wonder why all cat medicines aren't green lipped mussel flavoured, as, unlike any other medicine we've had to give him, he just eats these right out of our hands.
And all your cat icons are beautiful, but the copy cats icon is one of the sweetest things I've seen on lj. Just soooo adorable.

Claudia's a lot better already. She still could jump on the bed, but now she's back on the top of the couch while I'm writing; I call her my muse.
