Photos of the year

A friend in the US sent me some 'photos of the year'. I have no idea what the story is behind any of them, but here are the three I liked best. For some reason, I immediately thought of [livejournal.com profile] hafren when I saw the first one, and the last one's sort of topical with the sprogathon stories just out.

The kilt one reminds me of a similar shot I saw years ago. It was a group of soldiers in kilts (presumably their dress uniform) standing by some sort of monument, and the wind had caught the kilt of one of them, to amusing effect ;)

[googles] And, here it is!

That last image is just creepy.

It is a bit. I've felt babies kick before (my sister's) but I've never seen anything like that.

Hee, I've seen that one a while back, and it's still good. There must be some sort of regulation that they can't wear anything under kilts. It must be very draughty.

Oh dear!

That last one is scary.

Sorry on both counts! :-P

It's funny, esp considering my extreme dislike of birth scenes, but I found the last one rather intriguing. I suppose it's genuine.

I'm not making an assertion either way, but I'm fairly sure it could be faked, if the entries at Worth1000 are anything to go by.

Anything can be faked, but the other photos in the collection seemed real as they weren't bizarre: just cute or interesting (things like a policeman shading a sleeping toddler with his hat, a polar bear asleep in snow, a synchronised swimmer, a Persian cat being washed--fluffy head, bedraggled rat-like body, and so on, so I thought this might be. I wouldn't have believed it without the rest of the collection.

There seems a bit too much detail in that last one. But having said that mine used to roll over and you could watch the lump move across my tum (feels very odd), I was at the wrong angle to see if any detail was visible.

I suppose it could be the one fake in the collection (see my comment above). The wall does seem surprisingly thin but I've no direct experience of pregnancy anyway.
