Sunrise on the shortest day

When I got up this morning, it was dark, but by the time I was dressed I could see a beautiful pink sky outside. So I braved the cold and rushed out to take some photos.


The first one I took, shivering in our driveway


Just a minute later and the colours were already fading

"Red sky in the morning, Delta's warning" as they say (well, I do). And sure enough: by the time I was on my way to work, it was raining. I coughed all day--oh, the joys of winter. I'm so glad the days will start to get longer now, even if winter's just hitting its stride.
