Ice Cold in Auckland

Oh yes, and because it was Anzac Day, and also in memory of John Mills, we watched one of our classic war DVDs: Ice Cold in Alex. We thought the North African desert setting might warm us up but we had to resort to the heater. I hadn't seen that film since I was a kid, and though I loved it then, I'd forgotten just how brilliant it is. Superb stuff.

I loved one of the tributes to John Mills on the TV last night, can't remember who said it, "he was a very modest man... though he had nothing to be modest about."
