OK, I'll play

Snurched from almost everywhere: give me three characters to marry, shag (though surely the first includes the second), or chuck off a cliff.

I'm off to bed now, so don't be surprised if I take a while to respond.

Well, if you think of them as contemporaneous, it'd be which one do you want bringing the wages in and which is the bit on the side?

Marvin, Zen, Orac

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2005-02-15 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd marry Zen because he's gentle and it really would be a meeting of minds; pity they didn't explore that meld with Jenna. I'd shag Marvin because even though he's depressing, he's better than Orac who goes straight over the cliff, no question.

Good guys and bad guys:

1) Xander, Giles, Crichton.
2) Pindar, Egrorian, Dorian.

  1. I'm still only in S1 so you have to make allowances (too much Farscape and cool new programs on TV to watch). OK, I'd marry Giles because he's so sweet and scholarly and really rather gorgeous; that's easy. I'd shag Crichton because he's funny, and I really couldn't with a teenager, so Xander goes over the cliff which seems rather cruel just because he's a bit young.

  2. Eew! OK, I'd marry Pinder because he seems relatively harmless, throw Dorian over the cliff before he kills me (and run like hell because I daresay he's unkillable) and ... sorry, I just can't bring myself to say the last bit. I need my brain washed now.

Yes, I was interested in your early impressions.

Xander goes over the cliff which seems rather cruel just because he's a bit young.

Oh, sorry. I'm used to older Xander, and forgot he was jailbait at the beginning. I confess I put him in as a substitute for Vila, because I think they'd get on well, and I was curious how you react to Xander.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2005-02-16 08:05 am (UTC)(link)
People have compared him to Vila, but I don't see it. He's a little nervous (very understandably) and brave despite that, but that's all I can think of. I see Vila-ness in Wash and Harper, but as I said, it's early days.

[identity profile] mistraltoes.livejournal.com 2005-02-16 08:17 am (UTC)(link)
Well, he's also the cuddly comic relief, and supposedly the least bright one of our heroes. OTOH, he doesn't have any area of real expertise like Vila does. The correspondence is pretty rough.

Now, it's Harper where I don't see much Vila, though I enjoyed Harper-Tyr in much the same way I do Avon-Vila. Harper is too mouthy and high-energy and in-your-face for him to work as Vila in my head.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2005-02-16 08:32 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I don't think Harper is that Vila-like either. I just said he was more so than Xander--he's a bit cowardly, he's small, funny, and has a technical skill.

However, if Vila followed me home, I'd keep him. If Harper did, I'd call pest control. :-) There's only one Vila, bless him.

Cap'n Jack, Will Turner, Commodore Norrington.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2005-02-15 07:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd shag Jack, marry Will Turner because he'd probably be more faithful, and throw Norrington over the cliff. Poor Norrington.

[identity profile] hafren.livejournal.com 2005-02-15 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Argh! I had Will for the cliff and Norrington as the faithful (and rich) hubby. Besides I fancy Norrington...

- and another, though this should be easy: the Avalon, Vinni and Muller androids....

And how about Servie-minions: Jarriere, Carnell and Jarvik:)

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2005-02-15 07:30 pm (UTC)(link)
  • OK, Marry Avalon and shag Vinni because I'd prefer a rebel's life to that of an assassin's partner. Muller goes over the cliff along with his head and a lot of high explosive.
  • Jarvik get thrown straight over a very high cliff after being forced at gun-point to dress in one of Servalan's frilliest gowns. I'd marry Jarriere because even though he'd forget our anniverary and my birthday, he'd be a distinct improvement on Carnell who'd try to pull my strings all the time.
Sorry, I had to fix my HTML.

Londo, G'Kar, Kosh

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2005-02-15 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd marry G'Kar because he's the sexiest character on Babylon 5, shag Londo to find out what those six tentacles are used for, and--sorry Kosh--over the cliff he goes. That encounter suit would only get between us and he's not exactly a good conversationalist.

I interpreted marry as "you're stuck with hir forever, so it had better be someone you can tolerate", and shag as "they may be gorgeous, but they're mad/bad/dangerous to know".

Arthur Dent, Ford Prefect, Zaphod Beeblebrox.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2005-02-15 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
In that case, marry Ford, shag Zaphod (two for the price of one), and chuck boring old Arthur over the cliff. Hey, he probably expects it by now.
