vilakins: (cool stuff)

Linkety links

I don't have much to say about my life as it's very humdrum and samey and I can't even easily go anywhere interesting unlike most of you. However I've accumulated some links for you.

Two Auckland cats
Merli has decided in his old age to move to a bus stop.
Oscar the cat burglar nicks socks, even from kids' shoes at the local school at playtime.

Sherlock
Alice X Zhang does gorgeous fanart: Virtuoso, Study in Pink, Ghosts (Sherlock and John). There are more, plus art for Doctor Who and other fandoms in her gallery.
And Nichola Battilana put the 221B living room in a tiny tin. There's even a minuscule skull.

Star Wars
I want this for my car, even if  the decals don't go with the LIBR8R numberplate. There are some other good ones linked in the customers also bought section.

Star Trek
TOS cats. Only three, but hey.

Photography
Elena Shumilova lives on a farm in Russia and takes lovely, atmospheric photos of her children with animals.

Beach art
Andre Amador does beautiful and intricate  beach art with a rake.

Your life can't possibly be more humdrum and boring than mine's been. I bore my readers to death :)

The links are great. The sock stealing cat is hilarious and I love the Sherlock art!

Yeah, I can't look at a tortie as representing a male character without thinking there must be some implication. Captain Kirk is the archetypal ginger tom, though, and the enormous ears on the Spock cat are perfect.

Love the Russian photos and the SW decals. :)

Next time I buy something from Amazon, I'll get those too. So much better than the stick-figure families, though I believe you can get those in SW as well.

Those photos are wonderful. I love the Trek cats. I suppose Scotty would be a Scottish fold.

I adore the Sherlock fanart too.

Altoid tins are very popular for putting things in in America. Now all they need is a tiny Sherlock and John.

So thats how the Nazcar lines were drawn. :¬D

Scotty would be! And maybe with a little whisky bottle. :-)

A little Sherlock and John would be so cute.

Ooh, thank you. Loved the links.

Oh, damn, alicexz. She is one of those artists who make me swear to never, ever take up the tablet again. SHE IS JUST THAT GOOD.

Oh, yes. I was so impressed with her work, and she uses a Wacom like me. Although of course, not at all like me!

there's nice review of the star wars decals as well from a member of the imperial forces :)

There are some cool ones futher down too, like

"I was ecstatic to finally have a tool to track my kills while fighting the Galactic Empire. My joy was quickly cut short as I discovered my last AT-AT kill had not been recorded. I had to manually update the chart with each kill. I hope Rad Dezigns fixes this obvious flaw. I would be happy if I had to hit F5 to reload my stats."

and

"I've had 2 problems with these:
1. When I hit light speeds, they tend to burn off my cruiser and I have to re-apply at my stop.
2. When stopped by imperial patrols, they notice my stickers and I am forced into a firefight, which leads to me having to buy more tally marks for my cruiser."

I should check out the comments on the others.

Thank you for brightening my day!!! I enjoyed all the links: The photos with children and animals are fantastic. Also...I would very much like to join the man with a rake. And the fanart and the cats...yes, all!!!:-)

I'm glad you enjoyed them! :-D

We've been half-in-fun talking about decals for Rhubarb. My nephew wants "fierce eyes" and teeth on the pod - Star Wars tallies would be cooler and only mildy more ridiculous!

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2014-02-06 09:25 pm (UTC)(link)
They would be cool! You might be able to get them from Amazon UK.

I shall get on the case persuading my partners in crime...

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2014-02-07 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I saw in the reviews that people often swapped the kill counts to suit them. :-)
