Season's Greetings!

Have a great Christmas, New Year, and summer or winter break as the case may be!

This is a bit late since it's already the 24th here, but here's my card.



It shows the Liberator orbiting a gas giant on our tree, and the first lights we've ever had. As it's pretty much the longest day here, lights don't get much of a chance, but how could I resist pohutukawa-blossom led lights?

I regard all the non-religious trappings of Christmas a a celebration of the season, summer or winter - hence the frame with jandals - so I do wonder why there are still people here pretending it's midwinter with their decorations and cards.

In fact here's a bonus: the other lights I bought and put along the window sill because they're so wonderfully retro-summer-holiday.



There are little 50s-style caravans, tomato sauce bottles, pohutukawa blossoms, and jandals/thongs/flip-flops though they all seem to be obscured.

That's a huge drop! It rained here today after a couple of weeks of sunny summer weather, but it seems to be clearing, which is good for all those who spend Christmas on the beach.

Thanks. I'm OK, but the power was off for just over 12 hours. It was very frustrating, as 100 metres down the road it was still on. I was starting to get concerned about the food in my freezer, but the power came back on just in time, when the temperature inside was -1C (30F).

That's a relief! I don't suppose it was cold enough to put food outside anyway, as German friends used to (especially beer; they'd drink what didn't freeze, calling it Eis-beer).

We actually had one in the caravan when I was a kid. We bought ourselves one a few years back but we don't have any sauce in it; it just sit cheeringly in the kitchen.

I'm sure I say this every time, but your Xmas tree is the greatest. Nothing beats the Liberator. *g* If I had my own place I'd decorate my tree with giant transforming robots, LOL!

I put other spaceships on too but the Lib shows up so well.

I love the pohutukawa lights and the mixed ones too. It's the first time I felt like having lights (given the short nights) but those were just so perfect.
