Yay, holidays!
Here most companies close for two weeks' summer break, so both Greg and I are on holiday from now. It was so hot in here (32C) when I got home, I had to sit outside with a book and a chilled glass of water. At least we won't have to shut the house up most days.
I forgot to say, I heard the first cicada of the summer last week and now they're starting up in earnest; I love that sound. However tropical cyclone Evan is on its way so this weather isn't going to last.
Anyway, happy solstice (whether summer or winter)!

No snow here, something between winter and autumn, some freezing. Quite chilly and unpleasant. I have an extra day off, I do my best to warm this big house.
Have a nice day!

And, yay, I hope you like Major Pettigrew as much as I did!

I don't mind it being the minimum two weeks as there are 4 statutory holidays in there so I only use 6 of my 20 days vacation, and frankly, after learning one role (production analyst) at the huge global drink company then going straight into another (social and digital media, IT support, and now apparently all the orders and accounting stuff as that person is unexpectedly retiring in two weeks) I am so ready for a break!

I don't know why some places close for so long. It seems traditional in some professions but I've noticed most retail businesses and cafes etc keep going to my relief.
