Red Shirt Day!

It's the 21st tomorrow and I like the suggestion posted on the B7 mailing list that people wear red shirts. I only have the one, but it'll amuse the hell out of me to wear it.

Local pet shop chain Animates has posted a great video reminding us that pets know about imminent disasters like, you know, the end of the world. You go, Animates!

And here, have a bonus Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins, all in Lego! Oh, and I was delighted to hear that my overseas mail has been postmarked "Middle Earth". :-D

The cross-posting did work -- I also saw both versions -- but the LJ side won't let me comment, because "vilakins does not list you as a friend".

I LOVE the idea, and my partner and I have both decided to join the fun! Here in the US, nobody notices red shirts at this time of year because of all the holiday hoopla, so we'll be snickering all day and nobody will understand why. What could be better?

I posted the LJ one manually. Sorry about the friends-only there, but I was being constantly spammed by bots and this was the only way to stop it. You must get them too, or haven't they found you journal yet? Or has (most unlikely) LJ stopped it?

Excellent! Greg wore the closest to a red shirt he has: a maroon (burgundy?) t-shirt with a chili molecule on it. :-D

The damned bots hit me all the freaking time -- between LOLMac and Fic Rush, I'm high-visibility. I currently have most of my comms and such set so that anonymous accounts have to do captcha, but not even that stops everything. (It does slow them down, though.)

The weird thing is that I was blocked even though I've Friended you. I think it was because you haven't Friended me? Or because I'm not pretty enough? *g*

At any rate, we'll both be red-shirting it tomorrow! (Since it's still the 20th here).

Speaking of which, has the world ended yet on your side of it? Do let us know! ;-)

Sorry, I subscribed on DW only as I wanted to move most of my activity there. I did set captcha but someone told me it hadn't helped much. Maybe I'll go back to that and see how it is.
