My eldest would have the R2D2 thermos in an instant!

I nearly adopted a Turkish street kitten, but we have very strict quarantine rules.

I wish I could have kept the two cats I looked after in Israel, passed on to others there. Our regulations aren't as strict as they were (it used to be a year!) but it still would have been really hard. I'm surprised the little Saudi cat was brought straight into the US when their rules about people are so tight. :-P

That picture is pretty much my take on beach volleyball too! It gets constant coverage during the limited Olympic prime time broadcast here, I refuse to believe anyone cares.

Just the middle-aged guys with beer bellies, I'd say. They're the ones who wanted it. [spit] We have really good coverage, I have to say, 24-7. We record a lot of it to watch in the evening (FFing things like boxing, wrestling, sailing...)

They made me really happy too.

We presented Monty with a gold medal in archery yesterday evening when he woke up from his nap :)

I'd like a Cloud City lamp. Could be fiddly to dust though.

Awww! Go, Monty! Jasmin has a gold medal I must award this week (just a new name tag which happens to be gold and I haven't got round to attaching to her collar yet). She can have it for the high jump since we had to clear the top shelf for her after she knocked so many things off it. She spends a lot of time there looking down on us.

I really like that lamp too!

ThinkGeek absolutely should do some of those! Although the slide projector had me giggling madly at the generation gap.

I do like the cat Olympics - they almost beg to be turned into icons.

The kitten rescued was lovely, she's got a classic "Hitler hairdo and mustache".

Bit worried for the eventual outcome of Missy though, cats don't do well when they get pneumonia.

I like the toys that never were.

Yes, we noticed she was a Hitler cat (there's a site with photos of a lot). I'm glad that didn't affect her life, and I love how she bonded with her rescuer.
