LInky links

I was going to post a companion quiz to my 50 things to have done as a kid one but it's late, so here are some linksm mainly to pics.

Curiosity has found life on Mars. ;-)

Wormhole!

It's a hard life being a stormtrooper.

Star Wars toy concepts that failed. Hey, I'd have bought some of those! They'd go really well at ThinkGeek.

The cat Olympics. (Love the take on beach volleyball.)

And two stories to make cat lovers get a little misty-eyed:

The guy who rescued a street cat in Saudi Arabia.
Christchurch cat Missy rescued from a fire, resuscitated, and reunited with her owner.

My eldest would have the R2D2 thermos in an instant!

I nearly adopted a Turkish street kitten, but we have very strict quarantine rules.

That picture is pretty much my take on beach volleyball too! It gets constant coverage during the limited Olympic prime time broadcast here, I refuse to believe anyone cares.

Love the two cat stories, cheered up my day :)

We presented Monty with a gold medal in archery yesterday evening when he woke up from his nap :)

I'd like a Cloud City lamp. Could be fiddly to dust though.
mab_browne: Star Wars' Princess Leia with a big gun (Armed and Dangerous)

Why was there no R2D2 drinks cooler? Whyyyyyyyy???

Well I would have bought the R2 thermos and possibly the Cloud city light and the death star barbecue.

And those are two very lucky cats.

They're the ones I liked best too.

ThinkGeek absolutely should do some of those! Although the slide projector had me giggling madly at the generation gap.

I loved the Jabba squishy, and the Leia earphones!

And the Jabba bean bag!

The Leia earphones were used in Spaceballs.

I love most of those toys!

Heh, those never-made Star Wars things are particularly great. And mostly tacky. :-)

I would give house room to several (says the person who has plush Kirk, Spock, and Enterprise with nacelles that light up).

Nawww the cat rescue stories are just so sweet. Love the cat olympics too XD

For me, the cats stories and those amusing Olympics!
Thank you very much!!!

I do like the cat Olympics - they almost beg to be turned into icons.

The kitten rescued was lovely, she's got a classic "Hitler hairdo and mustache".

Bit worried for the eventual outcome of Missy though, cats don't do well when they get pneumonia.

I like the toys that never were.

Yes, we noticed she was a Hitler cat (there's a site with photos of a lot). I'm glad that didn't affect her life, and I love how she bonded with her rescuer.
