They did look rather Green Beret or Marine. I was glad we went informal too: not the boring black blazers with white Prisoner trim. Yeah, the German gender thing pissed me off greatly too, though I did see at least one woman in blue.

I did notice the Czech wellies! So funny (and they must have been awfully hot and sweaty). Was it a comment on English weather?

The Ukraine uniform at least showed imagination, but uniforms being made overseas to people's resentment was a common theme which applied to us too (China, I think, like most of our clothes). Spain had theirs made in Russia which angered people so much they were supplied free--and the Spanish then said they were to expensive. :-)
