My finishathon story is due tomorrow and I just finished it, here at work at 6pm on a dark wintry Friday night after everyone else has gone home for the weekend. Why? Because we lost the internet at home last night and I have no confidence it will be restored before Monday. Shame on you, Orcon. That's twice in two weeks you've cut us off from the world.

I was also going to post photos of the great tree adventures and various cats but I have to choose a new place (Flickr or Photobucket) to host my photos now that LJ has removed the feature-rich Scrapbook and replaced it with a basic piece of crap, copying photos to it in random order and providing us with no way to fix it. Bastards.

Anyway, at least I thought to bring my story to work on a flash drive and finish it here.

We've had to disconnect one phone line which we think Jasmin has gnawed. Although this may not be true. Anyway, the phone company is looking at it tomorrow morning so I may have maligned Orcon. I'm just very relieved to have the internet back. [hugs it tight]

Aha. Well, I worked out it sort of ought to be, but, heh, yes, that is helpful. I've got it on my watch list & will never be caught out again. (Well, hopefully...)

What is it with cats and wires? Jasmin isn't the first, and they regularly disconnect the TiVo and DVD player. In fact I based Avon's fiddling with the wire in Pets on our late Tessa.

I just looked at the new Crapbook and yeah... what a step backward, so many things fubared. I particularly hate that they no longer can nest. And of course, they've lost some pics, but what else is new?

Crapbook is a great name! I had all my stuff organised in each gallery IN ORDER, DAMMIT, but no way to fix the random mess they've made. No re-ordering, no selection of preview pics (which they failed to bring over... I AM SAVAGE ABOUT IT!

Who the hell implements shit software without any testing? LJ, that's who! (rewrite of our company's ad tagline.)

I figured out a long time ago that the basic game plan of the current owners is to deliberately degrade performance to drive off the users they don't like. I got so fed up with all their garbage and lousy performance that I don't even remember to look at my flist most days. I'm just spending my time writing fic on AO3 & email chatting with Z.

DW's great. I just never got into the habit of using it. I do have a paid account to show my support & to optimistically think that some day I'll get back into journaling, once my obsession with writing *something* every day for Iron Man/Avengers dies down.
