Dorktower dream crossover

I would watch this. Actually I'm almost tempted to write it.

Oh and re my previous post? The Soft Kitty came back into stock and I ordered it and the plush Enterprise. Yesss! [rubs hands]

[identity profile] vjezkova.livejournal.com 2012-01-28 10:29 am (UTC)(link)
Well, why not writing something? :-)
Hee hee, I am glad you decided to order this cute Enterprise - a dream of every ST TOS fan!

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2012-01-28 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I already have the cuddly Spock and Kirk (http://www.thinkgeek.com/geektoys/plush/d0d2/)! :-D

[identity profile] vjezkova.livejournal.com 2012-01-29 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
Ahh, cuddly them! I must show you my knitted ones, got them from a friend. But I have to take a picture first:-)

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2012-01-29 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd like to see them! I've been considering making knitted softies of characters.

[identity profile] linda-joyce.livejournal.com 2012-01-28 10:39 am (UTC)(link)
I'd watch it too and I will certainly read it if you do write it. I showed cousin A, who is a rabid Star Trek fan, the Trek plushies and told her you already have Kirk and Spock and she was green with envy. She will be even greener when I tell her you have the Enterprise too.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2012-01-28 08:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Greg wasn't keen but when you squeeze it, it goes whooosh and the nacelle lights flash. How could I resist?

[identity profile] linda-joyce.livejournal.com 2012-01-28 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I am not telling her that, she will nag me to get her one, she has no idea of internet shopping herself.%D

[identity profile] jhall1.livejournal.com 2012-01-28 10:44 am (UTC)(link)
For the first two panels I was thinking that I'd watch it too. But it lost me with the third panel. :)

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2012-01-28 08:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Awww, why? Sherlock would prove Bates's innocence.

[identity profile] jhall1.livejournal.com 2012-01-28 09:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I suppose that I shouldn't judge a show unseen, but from what I've read about it it doesn't sound like the sort of thing that I'd much enjoy. (Though when my mother used to watch "Upstairs, Downstairs" I saw a few episodes and have to confess to quite enjoying them.)

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2012-01-28 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not much for period dramas but there's something indefinably wonderful about this one. So many people said it was good that I said to Greg, "Let's give it a go," and we watched one a night, it was so addictive. I do remember "Upstairs, Downstairs" but this is soooo much better--and it has Maggie Smith in it. As i said, I can't pick what makes it so good; it just is.

If/when they have a rerun of the last series, perhaps I'll give it a try then.
thisbluespirit: (dw - eleven cool)

[personal profile] thisbluespirit 2012-01-28 12:15 pm (UTC)(link)
 That would be brilliant.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2012-01-28 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
But can I write Sherlock and his analytical brilliance? :-P And of course John would have to bne in it too.
thisbluespirit: (DA - the abbey)

[personal profile] thisbluespirit 2012-01-28 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, you know, if Sherlock is awkward, DW/Downton Abbey would be amazing enough. No one's done it yet, not as far as I know! Eleven and Violet!!

Of course, three-way fic is even better, obviously. :-)

I will let it percolate.

Actually I'm almost tempted to write it.

Do it! Do it!

Nice job on the plushies :)

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2012-01-28 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll think about it anyway. I'd have to invent lots of clever Sherlockery first.

I think you're one of the people that would actually be good at that!

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2012-01-29 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
[is very flattered!]

[identity profile] morzsa.livejournal.com 2012-01-28 03:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Just letting you know that my friend just made a series of scrabble tile pendants that look like your icon. :) I love them.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2012-01-28 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Very cool! A colleague at work has scrabble tile cufflinks N and H which are his initials. What does it say about me though that I immediately thought they were hydrogen and nitrogen?

[identity profile] morzsa.livejournal.com 2012-01-28 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Hehe, I'd think the same, except the number values with them are confusing. :D

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2012-01-28 08:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, he said "Look at the numbers," and I got it. :-P

[identity profile] quarryquest.livejournal.com 2012-01-28 05:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't forget that Benedict Cumberbatch was in Warhorse which was SET in the First World War ... Were they going back to save a relative?

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2012-01-28 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
That's about to open here. I didn't realise he was in it. Maybe they do and save Matthew and (almost) William as well.

[identity profile] quarryquest.livejournal.com 2012-01-28 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
OOh! Can I borrow your icon? I am doing that lecture to Media Studies on Monday (first time in this college!) and I need a sign that I have joined this fandom to add to the front slide.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2012-01-28 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Sure, but wouldn't a full-size picture (http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_oAsLXXeDOro/TFCibfUT3lI/AAAAAAAAAdU/L3Fb9Uacqgo/s1600/sherlockbbc.jpg) be better? This one is gorgeous too (http://drkronner.files.wordpress.com/2011/06/bbc-sherlock.jpg).

[identity profile] quarryquest.livejournal.com 2012-01-28 09:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Swoons ... I could read the body language of those two all day.

... and actually that is not what i need. I will send you the presentation when it is done to prove it!!

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2012-01-28 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
That's OK; feel free to use the icon. I thought I'd made more of them including one from that second pic but I can't find any of them. maybe they got lost when my old computer crashed. I am puzzled.

[identity profile] muscadinegirl.livejournal.com 2012-01-29 04:04 am (UTC)(link)
I My boys would love that plushie Enterprise.

The kitty is cute too.

And I would so read that fanfic.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2012-01-29 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Get it! The freight wouldn't be bad for you. :-)

The kitty is especially cute if you watch The Big Bang Theory:

The first time we hear it (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIp77PUvLTE)
Sheldon and Penny duet (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGt5H3_ygdQ)

I will let the idea percolate. I'd have to come up with a decent plot for Sherlock to be brilliant in.
