Day 22 - Chibi me

I didn't have time to do anything more than this, and anyway I wasn't happy when I got home (working in a part of town with no legal all-day public parking finally resulted in the inevitable ticket).

Anyway. Someone, I can't remember who, wanted to see what my hairstyle looks like, so here's as much self-portrait as I'm willing to do. :-P

Chibi me

My NaArMaMo 2011 Gallery is here; go up a level for the others.

That's so cute! I like your hairstyle.

Thanks! I gather I'd stand out like a sore toe in American for having short hair. ;-)

[identity profile] luinielle.livejournal.com 2011-08-23 03:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Really? I wouldn't think so... short hair is popular here, or at least where I live. It might be different though in other states. I have short hair, especially in the summer. :o)

I'm going by US TV shows, and on those you can count short-haired women on the fingers of one hand. :-P It sometimes gets hard to tell them apart: thin bodies, long wavy hair, conventionally beautiful faces no matter what their age.

Thank you for the sunflower! I love sunflowers; they always look so happy. :-)

Aah, yes. TV women are a different beast. :o) Mostly plastic - or so it seems, nowadays.

Sunflowers are pretty. :o)

When the sound's off I can always tell what a program is: US is all Barbies and many Kens though men are allowed to look a bit different, Australian is more real but still attractive, British and ours is real people, ugly, attractive or not, in the usual mix. Maybe that's why I notice the pervasive convention of beauty, thinness, and long hair. Truly, I had to rewind last night (old) NCIS to figure out if the dead woman was the one in the previous scene, they were so generically alike.

I live your icon.

Aww...

Sorry to hear about the ticket. :(

I was very pissed off. But as Greg said, it was pretty cheap parking considering I was there for over three weeks on and off. I've found somewhere legal now but further away, down the hill towards the harbour bridge. After all, that's one of the few places I've been getting work lately and I'm certainly not turning it down.
