New PC and linky coolness

I finally have a new PC, all black and silver! It took so long because Greg held out for a new model that's just been released. It took much of the weekend to set up with my old files and a lot of the stuff I use, but I'll have to buy a new version of Photoshop Elements if I want that, and I still need to reinstall a few things like Artrage. We now have a scanner and printer again (because they're attached to my computer) and my graphics tablet works; yay!

I really like the new keyboard too, and I hadn't realised just how bad my mouse's scroll wheel had become. Windows 7 and Office 2010 have a lot of nice features too. I'm fairly impressed.

Anyway, some links!

First up, some wonderful SF NASA posters in the styles of Star Trek (with added Space Station), Reservoir Dogs, The Matrix, the Ocean films, superhero comics (vrooom!), Indiana Jones, Star Trek (2009), Harry Potter, and more, even Snoopy. Seriously cool!

This one's for Sherlock fans: karadin made a Sherlock birthday cake complete with edible John and Sherlock!

It's kind of amazing just how long it takes to settle in to a new computer - there's always something else that you need to install :)

Everything's black and silver: PC, monitor (which I already had), keyboard and mouse, and yes, it did strike me as very Avonic. However it's called Zen on our home network because I didn't think Avon would want to do what I said. ;-)

Yeah, I noticed that. :-( I would have those posters on my wall, esp the Star Trek ones.

The new puter is wonderful--and fast! I'm still finding my way around Windows 7 and Office 2010 after using XP for years at home and at various works.

My old one kept crashing and having weird errors, and finally it just wouldn't boot. Seven years isn't bad though; it got a lot of use.

I do recommend you get a new keyboard; this one is a delight to use.

Yeah, I know. I avoided Vista like the bloated plague it was, but this isn't bad at all. Meh, it's easier to have the same setup as Greg, who has to have what he has at work.
