WIP update

Greg will be here soon, which is why I'm up so early to let him in. I should add that the travel company that arranged his flights and hotels is Orbit, and he flew with Delta twice. ;-)

Since I've been using his computer, I'll have limited time on it from now on. I shall resort to writing down ideas and outlines for my charity WIP on paper; yikes. The charity drawing will however have to wait till I get my own PC back--or a new one--along with my graphics tablet. Here's hoping it's soon, though Easter will probably delay it.

I know I should have got both these things done well before now, but general lassitude and depression plus a lingering cold have not helped. I've just wanted to retreat into books. But they will be done, I assure the recipients! The ideas are finally starting to come, and I'd rather give them both my best.

Is it autumn with you yet? If nothing else, it is a good season for reading. I should give in to that urge if I were you. :-)

...and much as I've been looking forward to the story: if you don't feel up to it, then really, don't worry about it. *hugs*

I can't, not while I have things I should be doing: the story, a drawing (though I can't do that till I have my PC and graphics tablet back), blocking some knitting I keep putting off etc...

Don't worry: I've written some of your story. I just need more plot to flesh it out to a decent size, and at least I'm getting ideas for it. Your prompts are a great help!

Yes, it's autumn and I like the weather: still not wet, cool enough to do things outside. However the realisation that the wet grey misery of winter is coming overshadows it.

I know creativity works differently with everyone, and when it comes to writing in particular I'm certainly not one who could credibly give advice. But I do know that the more things I have to do the likelier it is that I'll become apathetic and unable even to decide where to start... Perhaps you should allow yourself a break, mentally too, try to allow yourself not to feel stressed or guilty about any of it, read a book or two - it might even give you new input, make things easier once you start again?

Anyway, my point was that if you want to put a lower priority on writing my story it's fine by me. I'd rather have a happy vilakins then a stressed one, story or no story. And in any case, patience is one of my virtues... ;-) But, obviously, it is entirely up to you!

I'm glad the prompts are useful - I've actually felt a bit guilty about being so vague, I guess it might have made it easier for you if I could just have made up my mind and decided on one...

I do have some ideas, though I think this story might end up as a series of scenes rather than something with an overriding plot. Luckily I had a backed up copy of the story sent to myself at Gmail so I can work on it on Greg's PC.

My PC is definitely dead. I will have a shiny new one next week (I hope) with a new OS to go with it. Oh well, the old puter lasted quite a long time.
