All alone but for cats

Greg has gone off to the US for two weeks. [is bereft] He's going to Atlanta for a conference, then to New York to train some people. Of course as soon as he left the UPS starting making weird beeps; I think the battery needs replacing. Sigh.

However I am very encouraged by the cats: Ashley and Sebastian ate some treats right next to each other and have been playing (with the occasional Ashley hiss), and Jasmin, who had been glowering at Sebastian from high places, is happily asleep in her snuggler not far from him on the couch. Maybe it's one he hasn't yet sullied with his smell. :-P I'm going to let them all have the run of the house tonight.

He asks me to keep him entertained too! I managed to get him to run in fast, tight circles with an old knitting needle--known as "stirring the cat" in this house. Jasmin watched with great interest.

Sounds like the cats aren't doing bad at all! I hope it stays that way! They already sound like they're doing better than mine ever did with the kitten. (Or, more accurately, than the kitten ever did with them.) Nova excepted, of course. :)

Jasmin's still a bit wary. She wouldn't come in the bedroom window this morning (her specialty) because she could see Sebastian. Ashley OTOH has completely accepted him.

So you are on your own with your cats. I think that their relations will improve even more, given the time. As far as Sebastian is submissive enough, I think that Jasmin will be all right:-)

Jasmin's getting better all the time, It'll probably take her another week or so, and by then I'll be letting Sebastian out (under supervision).

Sebastian hasn't been here a week yet so I've been confining him to the bedroom/bathroom area while I'm out or asleep but last night I just let them mingle and go everywhere. Next step (next weekend) letting him outside for a while and teaching him the cat door.

I actually succeeded in feeding Jasmin and Sebastian treats within an arm's length of each other, and she's watched him play. She was refusing treats before if she could see him, so she's making huge steps. :-)

They do seem to be adjusting to one another. By the time a week's past no doubt they'll be acting like Sebastian's always been there. :¬D

When I was with KTFV ours all slept in the kitchen and out room, but if we let them have the run they wanted to play with us all night :D

Sebastian woke me up a couple of times kneading my arm, but that was it. Jasmin sometimes just comes for cuddles (but not yet while Sebastian's there) and Ashley only occasionally sleeps on the end of the bed. She usually prefers her snuggler or the spare bedroom.

It will go slowly if today's any indication. No one to talk to but cats and no one to watch TV with. :-P

I hope the 2 weeks pass quickly for you. At least you have the cats for company. :o) It sounds like Ashley and Jasmin will eventually accept Sebastian. All three cats are so beautiful.

Ashley's already fine with him! Jasmin and he touched noses today (though she growled a bit afterwards), and this morning I fed all three in a row. It's going really well. :-)
