Happy birthday!

I'm not good at birthdays because of the timezone thing and not wanting to post too early. But I hope [livejournal.com profile] kindkit is having / had a great day in his new town. Here's some lovely chocolate cake topped with ganache. :-)

Thank you! I had a nice dinner and saw the new George Clooney movie, so it was a good day.

Sounds like a good day to me! What's the film? Would you rec it?

It's called The American, and it's about an assassin living undercover in Italy. Despite that, it's really not a thriller; it's a character piece, very much in the style of European films, with few action sequences and no other big name actors. Clooney's good, and I enjoyed the film, but I think the film was trying to be a bit more Deep and Serious than it actually was. I can't rec it wholeheartedly, but it's not bad.

Hmm. Not sure whether that's my sort of thing. I think I'd rather see that Bruges one, which I keep intending to. But dinner and a film are still excellent ways to celebrate a birthday. :-)

I'm sure it was! :-)
