Vic-in-a-box
I took a photo of Vic at the window yesterday (pity he wasn't doing that elongated sphinx thing along the sill) and also realised that I hadn't posted the one of him in a box.
The box was around for a few weeks and during the World Cup was referred to as a goal. Vic fills it so he'd make a good keeper.
The bite marks are from the girls who chew cardboard--and paper for that matter. This box survived a while with its flaps folded in. Those things on the floor in the background are cat toys; they're all over this room. :-P
Vic sits and looks at the closed Venetian blinds in the morning till I open them and raise them enough to for him (and the girls) to look out or sun themselves. Enjoy it, Vic. I won't be doing that in summer.

I love it when a large cat is in a much smaller box

Catspeak! Mowgli has a funny little chirrupy wail that means "That dog's put his mouth round my head again!"

Sometimes I think he actually likes it. He and Flan have a kind of S&M relationship - Wolfgang says he always feels faintly embarrassed when he comes into a room and interrupts the two of them in one of their bizarre games. Mowgli's perfectly capable of scratching Flan when he wants to, but mostly he just bats him with his paws, which Flan takes - rightly, I think - as an invitation to continue his attentions.
It's left Mowgli convinced that dogs are all old softies underneath. We took him to the vet's once, and the waiting room was stuffed with badly behaved dogs, barking and yowling and trying to fight with each other. The only other cat was terrified, but Mowgli was completely relaxed, and pressed his face up against the bars for a scratch and then went to sleep. I suppose if all your experience with dogs is that they want to put their jaws around your head but they won't actually bite, it gives you a certain amount of confidence.

People think cats and dogs are natural enemies, but when I was a kid, we always had one of each. I also have a great photo of my brother's kitten curled up in the curve of tail of his dog.
My guys don't seem to notice dogs at the vet; I think they're just part of that place they hate to go to.

Oh, how gorgeous! That photo should probably come with a warning: contains lethal levels of sweetness.
I can see how if you have a general hatred of the vet's, a few dogs here or there make no real difference.

That's a very pointed routine he has there :-D Has he been doing that long (waiting for you to open the blinds)?
I thought Vic mostly stayed outside of his own preference? Is he feeling the cold a bit these days?
