Day 9 - Q is for quasar

Q is for quasar



Technical notes: The quasar isn't that wonderful, but the lettering makes up for it. I discovered that I can get lots of unpredictable (to me anyway) effects by playing with gradients on the lettering depending on the gradient, gradient colours, blend mode (burn, screen, add, subtract, anything but normal), base colour of the lettering, and how much I moved the cursor. I used "spiral" here, but "shaped (spherical)" actually gives the letters a border and sometimes other internal effects.

Thanks! I'm very pleased with the letters. I'll have to work out how to predict the colours I'll get in different blend modes so I can plan better.

Spiral letters have me sucked into the quasar... eeeee... well, at least it's not a black hole so I can probably get out. :^)

It probably wouldn't show up in icons, but the spherical way of adding borders ( and changing the colour) might. I shall have to play.
