Ashley turned two in the weekend; at least 1st May is the day we chose for her official birthday.

Jasmin looking uncharacteristically demure. She's sitting on a towel on the back of the couch near my computer desk, like Claudia used to. She likes towels, but she likes knitting even more, so I'm going to knit some nice headrest covers for her in a machine-washable acrylic.

Comin' at ya! I tried to take a cute photo of Ashley but she rushed at the camera. I thought it was funny and kept it.

Plush lion and plush Jasmin on one of the spare beds. I've had these two big plushies for years; in fact I think they were the first I ever bought. Claudia used to bite them savagely and drag them about the floor though, so I put them away. I brought them out recently and Jasmin, at first unnerved by their size, loves them. I really should have done it earlier as Claudia stopped being so bitey after a couple of years.

Here's the other one, a tiger, with Vic on the other spare bed. I like the way the tiger is looking at Vic with surprise.

Ashley on the deck, trying to blend into the background. It didn't work. Just after I took this, Jasmin leaped on her from the right, and they charged crazily about the garden after each other.

Ahahahaha, such cute kitties. I lovelove them sharing the same bed and licking each other. I wish mine were such good friends. :) Happy birthday, Ashley. :D

They didn't do much cuddling over summer, but now it's getting cold they're much more snuggly. :-) Vic still never ets or gives cuddles (except with us) but he likes to be around them and sometimes play, though he gets a bit rough.

You have such beautiful cats. It's lovely that the little ones are such good friends.

She had a very good birthday that lasted two days with tuna meals. Of course the others shared.

D'AWWWWWWWWWWWNESSSS. *snuggles the wee fluffballs* they both still look so tiny. *gives Ashley some birfday tuna*

They are both still quite small (I haven't had to let their collars out for ages), and Ashley's so light! Jasmin is smaller than her but heavier, having those dense Burmese bones. They all got birthday tuna for two days; it's such a pleasure watching them enjoy it. Ashley also got extra plain yogurt which she loves. :-)

It's the only one I have like that which worked! All the cats have dome it, but that one was very cute. I also have a few photos of tails as they run off. :-P

Such beautiful girls. Jasmin looks so sleek and she's a beautiful colour. She's a more old-fashioned type of Burmese than the ones I see at cat shows over here. I don't like the modern type, which have very rounded foreheads and slightly googly eyes, as much as Jasmin.

And Ashley is so, so pretty. I love the silver tabby colouring. There's a cat food ad running over here starring a silver tabby Norwegian Forest and I want one !

I lifted Iella onto my lap for a cuddle last night and she settled there, purring madly and wanting fuss. She's not much of a lap cat generally (like most skogkatts), so it was lovely to have her there. Diesel doesn't sit on my lap as much as she used to (though she'll always sit on Gary when he visits), so I've been a bit bereft of lap cats since Skiffle died.

It sounds as if you've gone to the American style of Burmese with their round eyes. All the calendars show those rather than the almond-eyed ones we breed here. I much prefer ours too; they don't look constantly surprised.

I've always liked silver tabbies, and the first one I saw was a marbled one: quite spectacular. When I heard there was a silver tabby of the right age at the foster home, I went out to see her, but I wouldn't have brought her home if she hadn't been friendly. Actually she lay in my arms for ages and wanted constant cuddling when I got her home, but after the first couple of days that wore off as she felt safe, I suppose. Anyway, a silver tabby for Iella would be fun, more her age. :-D Does she get on well with with Diesel, play with her and snuggle up?

So have I. Neither of the girls like being picked up for longer than a few minutes at most, but I can pick Ashley up in her snuggler, and cuddle her there, or on a chair or couch which she loves. She even snags me with a paw to get a cuddle, but never on my lap. Jasmin likes my knitting so I'm going to knit her some mats and blankets to see if I can lure her to my lap. About the only time she gets there is when I'm kitting. She does snuggle up next to us in bed though.

I could carry Claudia and Tessa round the house over my shoulder, and I'd have them on my lap for hours, often two at once in both cases. Ah well, different cats.

BTW talking of cat shows, I remember you saying there was an upset with a tortoiseshell male. A similar thing happened here (http://www.nzherald.co.nz/animals/news/article.cfm?c_id=500834&objectid=10642017). Though isn't he a calico with the white on him? [looks it up] Yes, and basically the same genetics apply.

I usually only get photos of Vic sleeping; he tends to walk away otherwise. The girls are easier, perhaps because they're used to it. I made icons out of a couple of cure ones though.

Me too, though she was 7 months old when I got her. But still, a year and a half; it doesn't seem that long.

Happy belated birthday, Ashley, and love to the others! Tabitha has just climbed into my lap, squawking, so probably wants to send greetings too.

Ashley does look very pleased with herself, she must have had some nice presents! And nice to see Vic with the overawed tiger.

Cats seem to know when we're looking at other ones.

Ashley and the others got tuna (a special treat) and the yogurt she loves so much and which make her sueak with excitement.

Vic's not that easy to photograph except when he's asleep. I must try to get more of him.

There's nothing nicer than happy cat pictures! They look so cute with their plushies. (And I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that made up a birthday for my cats)

You have to here for their vet cards. We chose 1 January for Vic: the first of the likeliest month in both cases.

They are! They're probably running about in the garden at the moment, chasing each other up and down trees and fences.

They're definitely looking askance at you in the first set. I like the last one, a ball of cat.

They're all good at getting into a ball. :-)

These are lovely photos. I do like the way the plush lion has the same shade "fur" as Jasmin.

They're the same colour and plushness! I think that's why she was so unnerved at first and now cuddles up to it. :-)

When are their birthdays due? They're littermates, aren't they? I do love that icon.

I wish I'd brought the big plushies out earlier after Claudia grew out of her chewy stage. She bit holes in furniture, blankets, clothes, but she did stop after a couple of years. She and Tessa might have liked them too.

I'm glad I was able to give you something cheering. :-D

I have huge numbers of plushies (never having any as a kid) but those are the biggest. I have several cats, lion cub and tiger cubs, adult tigers and a cheetah, and two owls. Tessa used to get upset when I cuddled one, meowing till I picked her up instead (and yes, you were much better than any plushie, Tessa) but these girls don't care as they don't like being picked up for longer than a minute or two unless they're in a very cuddly mood. I do get snuggle-cats up against me in bed though.
