I have had the boringest birthday ever. I pottered around in the morning, and I slept all afternoon; hot weather like this is draining. Bah!
The only person who rang with birthday wishes... was my financial advisor. Ugh.
I had snowlog, though. I had also bought myself some steak yesterday to make a steak dinner, but it was too hot and I was too tired to cook it. (sigh)

Awwww. But still, snow log! I used to make that, but dunking the biscuits (choc chip or ginger depending on the flavour I was going for) in sherry or orange juice first. I made a ring on the plate and called it Decadent Dessert because that's what the person I got the recipe off called it. Damn, I should have made that when you were here!

Do you have a BBQ? Cooking steak outside in hot weather is so much easier.

I think I had a snowlog that was dunked in sherry, and I didn't like it much, because I don't like the taste of alcohol.

That's why I have a version with orange juice! It goes well with choc chip bikkies.

Ah. Our BBQ is in the shade in the evening, and it's a lot nicer than heating up the house. I hope you have your steak anyway. A really hot pan gets it over fast, and it's a nice refreshing meal with salad. :-)

I'm so glad we now have a heat pump, though it really only does the kitchen and TV room. Still, that's where we spend most of our time, though I'm in the lounge a lot on my PC.
