Giant knitted animals

The knitters and crafters among you may be interested in these huge animals knitted by Lion Brand for the Crafts and Hobby Association Show this year. There are some great photos on Flickr showing the design, making, and finished items--look at them via slideshow to see them full-screen. There's a lion (of course!), a bird, a snake with gorgeous markings, and an argyle giraffe which I know one of you will especially like. ;-)

Those are great works of art. I love the Argyle giraffe - such a clever way of using a traditional knitting pattern to represent the giraffe's markings. And the lion is rather sweet.

Any idea what happened to the animals after the show ? What do you do with an eight foot high knitted giraffe ?

I have no idea. Maybe they took out the stuffing and put them in storage, or set them up at HQ? For a while a company I worked for had a huge model of DS9 hanging in the foyer because it had been made for a ad. I wanted it so badly, but had nowhere to hang it.
