Haiti auction items
Good news, everybody! [/Professor Farnsworth] I seem to have formatting and icons back on LJ! At least, they've been here for a few hours, so I'm optimistic that they're staying. :-D
Since I finally finished the last of my help_haiti commissions, I can post about them.
I raised US$85 (thanks to some kind bidders paying more than they actually bid) with the following (click to see full-size):
This necklace and earring set (the ones on the left)
These ninja mitts, at least ones in the same yarn
This scarf, knit to order
And this pic of blind Avon and seeing-eye wolf (for kalinda001, since many of you will have recognised the theme). :-)
I'd have bid for some items myself if I had a job, though the custom plushies would have been way out of range.

38F? That's 3C! That's colder than it gets here normally! Hey, I'll make you a scarf like that if you pay for the yarn and the airmail, total = $35! BTW the brown is lighter than it looks in the photo; it's dark chocolate rather than the black it seems to be. The yarn I used is on this page (http://www.cleckheaton.biz/Colour_range.asp?YarnID=26), #14 (mouse over the smaller pics), but it's a bit lighter than it looks there. I rather fancy trying some of the others, like #06.
I already made you something silly (and non-wearable) with leftover yarn; I must get round to posting it.

If I had $35 I very well might take you up on that offer. I am so seriously broke right now I couldn't do it. Which is stupid since by the time I have money, it'll be too warm!
I think the colors in the scarf look very 70s too, so that's probably also why it appeals to me so much. Look forward tos eeing the silly thing you made. I really need to learn to knit more!!! Though I'm not sure how much my wrist could take it.

Maybe if either of us has a job, I'll make you one for next winter. :-)

Maybe someday I'll get back into my clay creations and we can do a trade, even.

If I thought I'd sell them on Etsy, I'd make more of those scarves in that yarn in different colours, as it turned out so well.

Why not try to sell one on Etsy? It's super easy to set up an account and although it does cost to list, it's like less than a dollar to list a few things so not a huge loss if nothing sells. And if something does sell, then money!
