Doctor Who and the Star of Doom

This is cool! The Scientific American reports that an astronomer, Dr Megan Argo, announced the detection of a supernova in a distant galaxy by writing a Doctor Who story in her blog about Ten and Martha observing it: Doctor Who and the Silver Spiral. It's not that long, it's very informative, and the voices are pretty good! She did the artwork too. :-D

I did, but I didn't listen as I often prefer the voices in my head. Did she do their voices well?

Hey, I think I remember that supernova. If I'm not confusing it with something else, we observed that one, too, and it was a bitch and a half to actually get the data out the door. :) [ETA: No, I take it back. I'm pretty sure I'm thinking of a different one.]

Anyway, that was very cool, and I love the fact that astronomers are almost invariably geeks, including the Who-watching variety. I do kind of wish she'd bothered to format her paragraphs, though, because that's hard to read.
