Done and dusted!
That's a British expression meaning a task has been completed properly, and in this case it's literal. I now have a new hard drive (well, new to me--it's Greg's old one which he replaced with a much bigger drive a while back) and while we were putting it, we took the opportunity of cleaning the dust off the fans and other components. It only took about 30 minutes to restore from backup, so I'm baaaack, and with a drive that doesn't thrash around due to bad sectors. :-D [pats drive] I shall defrag you frequently.
I'm lucky to have a resident computer tech, and a much better-tempered one than Avon.

Not that it is difficult to be better-tempered than Avon. My personal theory is that he just wasn't getting enough ice cream. That can have a terrible effect on a man.

Ditto on the resident computer tech, although sadly and as much as I love him mine is just as snarky and bad-tempered as Avon. I think I imprinted at an early age :-D
The icon isn't a comment on anything. It's just the mildest of the two Avon icons I have.

I don't defrag that often because I have about 8 gigs free, not storing as much as Greg does. Greg has to do it a lot because he downloads so much.
[uses fairly neutral Avon icon]

Yes, I thought it was time for a change. It's part of the motion of a Black 5 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_5) on the North York Moors Railway (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Yorkshire_Moors_Railway).
